Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

This was an excellent show the first season. It Boned The Fish with the writing of the second season. Even the creator of the show apoligized in a magazine article for it sucking so bad. -- Submitted By: (JohnnyRocket42) on July 4, 2009, 5:00 pm

My Three Sons - TV Shows
I have to agree Dodie boned "My Three Sons". She was dreadful and couldn't act. How can this sitcom have the most votes when nobody under the age of 40 has ever even heard of it. I did get a kick out of the fight between user Rebecca and joebagodonuts. Hey Joe, you claim that people like Rebecca no longer make this a fun sight by making personal attacks, yet you attacked Rebecca first by calling her a stalker & trashed Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, Sasha Baron Cohen & More. What a total Hypocrite. Personally I think the two of you would make a great couple. How about changing both of your ID's to (Rebarka) and (JoblessBagOWind) Let's stick to the topic why the show Boned The Fish. It boned the fish because some moron thought it would be entertaining to give some fugly little cross eyed troll of a child air time on TV. Even Mad Magazine called her Dopey. -- Submitted By: (JohnnyRocket42) on July 4, 2009, 4:58 pm

Whoever marketted this back in the 70's proved Barnum's adage quite right! It didn't take a rocket doctor to wonder why folks were willing to pay cash for something they couldn't teach to play fetch and they could have dug up freebies in their own backyards! Bogus! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on July 4, 2009, 3:49 pm

Family - TV Shows
Someone on the Site That Shall Not Be Named once remarked that the mother Kate always seemed to have an expression like she was smelling old fish. It only seems apt here on This Site, to point out that it may have come from her having had to have read the scripts! Sad that stinker this turned out to be the prolific actor James Broderick's (Matthew's dad) swansong. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on July 4, 2009, 3:37 pm

Welcome Back Kotter - TV Shows
Agree, waltonlover1991. Of course, the last year was by far the worst. Between Vinnie only being on a few times working as a hospital orderly that the other Sweathogs would try to get into trouble (with 'And Special Guest John Travolta' for the billing) after Mr. Travolta's first movie career took off with "Saturday Night Fever" - and Gabe Kaplan having a major falling out with the producer James Komack which resulted in Kotter himself being reduced to almost no appearances, there was virtually nothing for even the diehard fans to cling to. Why they thought the audience would buy MRS. Kotter taking over her absent husband's job when she'd been a barely seen struggling student and mother of baby twins is somewhat of a mystery. Of course, the irony of the show is that it was created after some bigwigs got all excited about Gabe Kaplan's comedy album about his own high school antics yet he's gotten little lasting fame and the show only seems to get shown whenever there seems to be a demand for all things Travolta. As for the other Sweathogs? The only one who seems to even have small amount of residual fame is Horshack! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on July 4, 2009, 3:32 pm

You can check out the website traffic from JTS. About one year ago in May they had about 74.000 visitors that month now its just about 7900 visitors a month ( no I didn't forget a zero). I can't gloat but it's delighting to see. I'm sorry TVGuide/Gemstar but you bought a website just to get 7000 visits a month now. Ah the irony. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) - Random Topics
PETA's been part of the lunatic fringe for a long time. But in an ironic twist that O. Henry would have appreciated, they boned the fish when they got uppity about the Pike Place Fish Market guys' treatment of DEAD fish. I've known people who disagreed with PETA's message while still respecting them for sticking to their principles, but now even those folks are saying that with their Pike Place comments, PETA's credibility now stinks like the Tacoma mud flats at low tide. -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on July 2, 2009, 2:41 pm

So? Just because it takes place in Dinosaur Land does not mean it should take place in caveman times. The fact that dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago should not matter for a fictitious cartoon. -- Submitted By: (Marcus) on July 2, 2009, 10:38 am

I remember the day, and it wasn't that long ago...2003, maybe? When A&E still showed biographies and cutting edge dramas such as "MI-5" from the BBC. The only cool thing about this fish scaler was that in the 1993 film CAPE FEAR- this was the film that was playing when DeNiro was laughing so hard at the movie theater. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) - Random Topics
While I'm all for the ethical treatment of animals, PeTA has probably done more to hurt that cause than anyone. It seems like just about everything they do is steeped in ignorance, hypocrisy, stupidity and incompetence. I'm talking about things like trying to release into the wild animals that have been domesticated for centuries, protests outside of pet stores for things they didn't actually do, harassing fishmongers for tossing around already-dead fish... I've never heard of them actually doing anything to help animals, it's always something profoundly stupid that makes no positive difference. The difference between serious animal rights movements and PeTA is like the difference between an educated environmental scientist and a stoned hippy who hates National Forests because they're owned by "The Man". -- Submitted By: (Hanglyman) on July 1, 2009, 3:28 pm

It's far from the best pizza you can buy, especially if you have some good local places, but Papa John's is pretty decent, and MUCH better than some other chains (Dominos and Pizza Hut, I'm looking at you). Three Stooges Short Films - Movie Series
The easiest way to avoid the bones is to look at the opening credits and plea "Say it ain't Joe!". Even though Joe Besser was billed as 'Curly Joe', I don't recall him ever being called 'Curly'-just Joe. While Jerome 'Curly'Howard (born Horowitz) was the best buffoon stooge, Shemp was okay. Not one of my fave dances by any means and I think its biggest sin was that it was played to death but come on, isn't it better than moshing in which injuries are almost a given while trying to 'dance' to stuff that's being screamed instead of sung or line dancing in which everyone's expected to do complicated, exuburant steps and kicks to some of the dullest country music? What was the Fallen doing for those thousands of years Megatron was frozen in ice? How does one satellite receive transmissions from everywhere on the planet? Why does Wheelie hump Mikaela's leg? Why do we have to see John Turturro's thong? Why are robots who join together to become Devastator also seen fighting the Army at the same time? Why does the government want only our military fighting Decepticons when our weapons seem unable to make so much as a dent on any of them? Why did the ancient Egyptians build a pyramid around the sun-destroying machines instead of just breaking it? Why is the Matrix of Leadership bigger in the Fallen's hand than in Sam's? Surface - TV Shows
I was disappointed with the last episode not resolving the storyline, but considering how abruptly NBC yanked the rug out from under this series, it was understandable. I was hoping, though, that at some point a finale had been produced and might find its way to DVD even if it was never aired. No such luck, though: The DVD just had the episodes, and no indication of an actual ending, so I didn't buy it. And for me that was the BTF moment ... which is an appropriate turn of phrase considering what the show was about, but not entirely appropriate because we don't know for whether the critters in the show had bones or even qualified as fish (in the taxonomic sense). To be perfectly on the mark, we'd have to say that Surface de-skeletonized the crypto-ichthyoid. -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on July 1, 2009, 7:03 am

Sabrina the Teenage Witch - TV Shows
I agree with DolFan that while it's not necessarily a BTF moment, it doesn't speak all that well for the series when one of the aunts is hotter than the hyped-up marquee teenage star. Raising the Bar - TV Shows
My girlfriend and I watched the first couple of episodes because the teasers made it look like Law & Order on steroids. Unfortunately, it turned out to be "Law & Order meets Melrose Place": Half of the characters are sleeping with the other half, or stabbing them in the back, or -- in at least one WEIRD instance -- both. Head of the Class - TV Shows
First there was the Mike Tyson Moscow Meltdown- which totally ecclipsed not only the show's publicity but also destroyed Robin Givens's character's cred since she and the media rammed down the viewers throats she was Mrs. Mike Tyson, she was no longer believable as a high schooler. Yes, even though her character was an otherwise unmemorable supporting player on the show. Then came Howard Hesseman's abrupt departure which led them to bring Scotsman Billy Connolly to sub for him> Billy Connolly's a riot and his movie work proves he can be a great dramatic actor but he just didn't mesh here at all. I'm sure Hesseman's glad he's more remembered as Dr. Johnny Fever on "WKRP" than for his efforts here- and no doubt Connolly's barely given this a backwards glance! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on June 30, 2009, 11:51 am

Survivor - TV Shows
Although Survivor rocks compared to other reality shows, in objective terms it was BTF from Day 1. What's the point, anyway? About the only good thing that can be said about Survivor is that at least the set-up is a straight fight. Even though it has it's backstabbing moments, at least it's HONEST backstabbing. Almost without exception, every other so-called reality show is based on a con. As for the reason asking about Richard Hatch going naked, he did it deliberately so that the cameras would stay away from him and he could operate almost completely under the radar. Then his tactic of knocking off the most adept survivors (the ones that were the greatest threat to him) could be sprung as a complete surprise .... with the TV cameras avoiding Hatch, no one really had an idea what he was up to. And the tactic worked: Hatch won. Unfortunately, he didn't have the money smarts to match his survival smarts, but he's still got a place in the Machiavelli Hall of Fame. As for the show, it has a definite place in the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle, becuase it's long since been boned and ready for sale. -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on June 30, 2009, 11:02 am

I was interested enough to watch the first episode, because of the people doing voices. For the life of me I can't figure out what's so damned funny about this show, and this is after several attempts at watching it. At least we (my girlfriend and I) figured out an explanation for Peter Griffin's appearance. He's not really a human being - he's actually an alien observer stationed in Rhode Island. As for his species, "Peter" is a Ballchinian, albeit one whose disguise isn't quite perfect. Regardless of his politics, I haven't liked Michael Moore since the very beginning of his documentary career in the late 1980s, when his tactics for making "Roger and Me" bordered on stalking Roger Smith. Moore had a legitimate beef about Smith's decisions, but he p1ssed away his own credibility with his borderline-stalking tactics and spin-doctoring approach to editing his footage. Moore has for a long time held the title of "asinine buttinsky blowhard" as far as I'm concered. Do "the powers that be at BTF" have to come in and moderate the My Thrree Sons War of 2009? Say it aint so, the first user on user fight at BTF!!! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on June 30, 2009, 3:54 am

Grey's Anatomy - TV Shows
This show defied the laws of physics by sucking and blowing at the same time. I'm amazed they could even treat any patients in between everybody sleeping with everybody else. Basically just high school set in a hospital. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 30, 2009, 12:55 am

My Three Sons - TV Shows
Rebecca, Thanks for the comment about me. You were wrong on every single account, but thanks for the thought anyway. I did post quite a bit but I didn't sit around posting every five minutes as you stated. I was a fan of the old JTS site and was upset that they sold out so I was naturally enthusiastic about BTF picking it back up. I am a fan of television and had a lot of fun posting about some of my favorite, and not so favorite shows as well as movie series, musical groups, and other topics which, after all, is the purpose of this site. Then there are people like yourself who always screw things up by resorting to personal attacks. You are making this site not fun anymore and for that reason...you Rebecca.. have officially....BONED THE FISH. -- Submitted By: (JoeBagODonuts) on June 29, 2009, 9:27 pm

Schnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show, The - TV Shows
Nice animation, but a terrible "Ren and Stimpy" ripoff. I'm gonna say Day one. -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 29, 2009, 6:54 pm

Ed, Edd N Eddy - TV Shows
Wasn't the best Cartoon Network show, but it was pretty good. I liked the randomness and insanity of it. -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 29, 2009, 6:51 pm

Butt-Ugly Martians - TV Shows
This was probably one of the crappiest cartoons that ever aired on Nickelodeon, possibly television. -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 29, 2009, 6:41 pm

Brave Little Toaster, The - Movie Series
The first Brave Little Toaster movie was funny, sad, full of messages that weren't shoved down kids throats, had some stuff for adults as well, and a great movie that made you think. The Second movie "The Brave Little Toaster To The Rescue" wasn't as good, but it was still memorable and had kind of the same feel the first film did. "The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars" was not funny, boring, and made no sense... How does a Ceiling Fan float a Baby, Toaster, Blanket, Vacuum, Radio to another planet... and how do they survive the Vacuum of space? (The Baby at least) (But then again, all 3 of the movies were about intelligent, living, talking, walking appliances). -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 29, 2009, 6:35 pm

Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) - Random Topics
When they decided to start suing old ladies and little kids for millions that was the last straw for me. I haven't bought music since 2000. These guys made Nazis look like Boy Scouts. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 5:17 pm

Lost - TV Shows
I never did get what all the fuss was about. Some people are wandering around on an island, so what? -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 5:15 pm

Final Fantasy - Random Topics
I don't care what anyone else says, Final Fantasy VII ROCKED!!! Every other one since then just can't compare. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 5:12 pm

Hulk Hogan - Celebrities
Hey Hogan, how'd that reality show work out for ya? Your son killed someone else in a stupid street race and your wife divorced you and took everything. Serves him right for being a political backstabbing a-hole behind the scenes in pro wrestling for decades. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 5:08 pm

Jennifer Lopez - Celebrities
Is J-Ho still relevant anymore? Not that she should've been in the first place. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:52 pm

Powerpuff Girls, The - TV Shows
I dunno, for some reason I always found the beating of the clown as hilarious, and I don't normally see stuff like that as funny. And let's face it, clown beating or no, that show was better than 99% of the dreck cartoon Network tries to pass off on poor viewers today. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:50 pm

Ally McBeal - TV Shows
This show was horrible and perpetuated the ridiculous notion that nobody will think a woman's attractive if she doesn't look like a starting Ethiopian refugee. And has anybody heard from Calista Flockhart since? I think somebody either ate her by mistake or she got so skinny she turned sideways and literally disappeared. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:47 pm

Everybody loves Raymond - TV Shows
One of the original "hot wife married to an ugly dumb guy" shows that I despise. The title should've been "Everybody HATES Raymond" since it would've been far more accurate. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:42 pm

Critic, The - TV Shows
The only problem I had with this show is that, like a lot of others around this time, it had the male lead they were trying to portray as a hopeless loser scoring on a regular basis. Other than that, this show was hilarious. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:40 pm

Pink Lady and Jeff - TV Shows
I had heard about how legendarily bad this show was supposed to be and then one night I finally saw it...and to be honest it really wasn't that awful. Bad, yes. But compared to the dreck of today it looks positively brilliant. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:37 pm

Jonas Brothers - Music Groups
I've seen these guys before. They were called "Hanson" back in the late 90s. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:35 pm

Avril Lavigne - Celebrities
It's been a while since I paid any attention to her. Does she still stalk around with that faux-angry look permanently etched on her face in a lame attempt to prove she "rocks"? -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:34 pm

MTV: Music Television - Random Topics
The fact that MTV started showing Michael Jackson videos nonstop the day of his death actually made them look even worse, because now it's obvious they COULD show music videos any time they wanted, they just don't want to. Personally MTV boned the fish for me in '97 when the beginning of the Dark Period of corporate controlled pop and hip hop began and Beavis & Butthead ended. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 29, 2009, 4:32 pm

MTV: Music Television - Random Topics
Satellite Radio has become the music cool spot that MTV used to be- in fact alot of the awesome MTV personalities (Ed Lover, Rikki Rachtman, the 80's VJ's) are all on SiriusXM now The days when MTV didnt suck, sort of like Ancient Rome these days- Just a hidden item lost in the mists of history... sad indeed. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on June 29, 2009, 2:45 pm

MTV: Music Television - Random Topics
Ive tried watching this channel for a while now. All Ive found so far are a bunch of boring, corny, (A lot of them Downright horrible) Reality shows. Ive heard that "back in the day" there once was a time that they played nothing but music videos, Artist interviews, and the sort, nonstop, for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Unfortunately, I was born in the early 1990's, so I guess I "missed out". -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 29, 2009, 2:27 pm

Cosby Show, The - TV Shows
I don't think it ever jumped myself. Pam and Olivia had their moments, but I agree they weren't as strong as the others. But I couldn't get enough of the comedic genius of Bill Cosby. -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 29, 2009, 2:16 pm

Michael Jackson - Celebrities
He boned probably around the early-to-mid 90's (When the first child molestation rumors began floating around). I must admit, Mr. Jackson made some great music and achievements over the course of his life, (I am a fan of his music myself) but when the Child Molestation and such happened (Like when he held his own child over the balcony), he started to seem like some kind of weirdo, (Even though most of this has never been proven) and it just got worse over the course of the 2000's. But I will miss his music, movies and legacy and all his hard work. RIP Michael Jackson. -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 29, 2009, 2:12 pm

Dora the Explorer - TV Shows
This series wasn't bad, but the "Map" and "Backpack" songs were annoying as sin... Even when I was 7. -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 29, 2009, 2:03 pm
