Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

Jay Leno - Celebrities
Leno is still a good comedian and seems to be a decent enough guy, I don't see any strong enough evidence that he's BTF though his hissy fit over his tickets being sold on ebay came awful close -- Submitted By: (gpshaw) on April 7, 2009, 10:14 pm

King of the Hill - TV Shows
Once Lucky became a regular character the show flatlined, Luane (while never a bright bulb to begin with) became infatuated with a person that would make Jerry Springer's stomach churn, the storylines with him were annoying and shallow and hsi appearance was more or less retoconing (sp) the entire Buckley's Angel storyline where Luane was not meant for Beauty school. While Lucky was the start Peggy joining the Arlen Bystander was also a clue that show was running low on ideas anytime someone with an eyepatch shows up it's hello fishy! -- Submitted By: (gpshaw) on April 7, 2009, 10:11 pm

Will & Grace - TV Shows
I've never been able to make it through an entire episode due to Grace's grating voice, the whole series was more or less one big gay joke. -- Submitted By: (gpshaw) on April 7, 2009, 10:08 pm

CSI - TV Shows
The point where I realized it was going downhill was when one of the character kissed a potential suspect while she was investigating a crime scene, the drama from this show came from the evidence, not from who's having sex with whom. -- Submitted By: (gpshaw) on April 7, 2009, 10:07 pm

Pink Floyd - Music Groups
I never really liked Pink Floyd that much, I liked "The Wall" and money is ok too but their music just doesn't click with me. I'm fairly certain however that the music would be great if one had just smoked some reefer (I want to stress this is in no way a comment on the band's fans I'm just saying that their tone would likely be comforting to a person using drugs) -- Submitted By: (gpshaw) on April 7, 2009, 10:05 pm

Metallica - Music Groups
I can't say that Metallica has BTF, St Anger was bad I admit but DM was a vast improvement. The arguments from metal purists and the wealth envy crowd (Lars has all that money why is he complaining about Napster, his already rich, he doesn't need that money etc.) are not really fair IMO we should focus on the quality of their music and lyrics, which are still top notch (disregarding St Anger). Metallica is still a great band, those who dislike their new directions can simply listen to their old music. -- Submitted By: (gpshaw) on April 7, 2009, 10:03 pm

Scrubs - TV Shows
Scurbs BTF in season 5. The decline started after Turk and Carla got married, the ludicrous scene with Turk and JD running through the hospital and ending up on two different roofs was the start of a long but slow decline. Season 5 was when the show became unwatchable, since season 5 (no particular order or season) SPOILER WARNING Dr Coxs rants became horrendously unfunny ("Keith"olism? Come on I could write a better joke than that! Lavern Dies Politically charged episodes/jokes (War in Iraq episode, pro-choice priest) Things that should have been JD's fantasies were "real" (one armed security guard loosing his hand in the ice machine, JD getting taped to the cafeteria ceiling.) The musical episode (could have been very funny but the songs were subpar, where's Joss Whendon when you need him.) I'm sure there are more examples but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Quick addendum, 1,000 curses upon TV guide for what they did to JTS. -- Submitted By: (gpshaw) on April 7, 2009, 9:56 pm

Matthew Fox - Celebrities
This guy is a freaking joke. -- Submitted By: (Koskov) on April 7, 2009, 5:15 pm

Gary Unmarried - TV Shows
I don't think this show ever BTF!! I wasn't sure about it when it first began not too long ago. but now I think it's really cute, and funny too! plus the kids (2 of them) are really good in this show too! -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 7, 2009, 4:23 pm

Paul McCartney - Celebrities
I don't think this dude ever BTF!! he is really great! I grew up listening to his music (Beatles, Wings and solo songs too). and the music he helped write will always rock, because it is timeless!! 'nuff said. -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 7, 2009, 4:16 pm

Brothers and Sisters - TV Shows
I like the Walker dinners you just know something is going to happen. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 7, 2009, 4:33 am

Underworld - Movie Series
The first "Underworld film" was so bad that I remember people walking out of the theatre, I forced myself to watch it as I paid to see it. I wish I would have walked out- this film was complete trash, I cannot even imagine how bad the sequels are!!! Avoid this at all costs, it bones the fish at 00:00:01 in the first film! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 6, 2009, 3:01 pm

Star Wars - Movie Series
This series was excellent. The Ewoks were good. Jar Jar was bad, but at least after Episode One he was used more sparingly. Plus, you can blame him for the fall of the Republic as he pushed for Palpatine. The only other drawback was the dialogue between Anakin and Padme as it was off a bad Hallmark card. Still forgivable and a good series. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 6, 2009, 11:09 am

Friday the 13th - Movie Series
These are not cinematic masterpieces but instead are around for the camp value. They have not boned for this reason. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 6, 2009, 11:03 am

Matrix - Movie Series
The first movie was ground breaking. The special effects with the jumping and the bullets were great. They were great the first time. Then every movie had to mimic the effect and it got really old really fast. They waited too long to come out with the second movie and the icing on the cake was the 30 minute rave scene. Couldn't bring myself to see the second one after that. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 6, 2009, 11:01 am

Highlander - Movie Series
Highlander was a great STAND ALONE FILM- all of the sequels and remakes are not only bad, but beyond awful. Shame on Hollywood for dragging this out to try to steal a dime from the fans of the first film- unforgiveable BTF moments all around! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 6, 2009, 9:35 am

Diff'rent Strokes - TV Shows
With Dana Plato's Death and her sordid life after the show (Drugs, prostituion), Todd Bridges Crack/Cocaine addiction & drug dealing, and Gary Coleman being one of the most bizarre and unlikable "Z" List celebrities- it is hard to watch this show and not be creeped out by it. And this was one of those "feel good" 80's shows that evreyone liked back in the day. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 6, 2009, 8:10 am

Metallica - Music Groups
Im not sure that a band has ever sold out so hard and so fast. Really- go listen to any of their Pre Black Album music, and then listen to the "nameless" Black Album, the horror show that is "Load" and "Re-Loaded", then for more punishment try to stomach "St. Anger", and then the charade of "Metal Cred" that Death "Magnetic" was. Metallica in the definition of the Metal Community at large are sellouts, and only worthy of their real name: Alternica. They are little more than a heavier version of some of the bad "Nu Metal" genre of sort of metal acts from the 2000's. Rot in Hell Alternica! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 5, 2009, 8:33 pm

California Dreams - TV Shows
This was good when it was called "Saved by the Bell." -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 7:08 pm

Malcolm in the Middle - TV Shows
The baby was a terrible addition to the show which had worn out by that point. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 6:59 pm

Married with Children - TV Shows
This show almost boned with Seven but was saved. Ted McGinley was a wonderful addition to the show. This is possibly the only show that got better with age. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 6:58 pm

Batman - Movie Series
The franchise was dead when George Cloony played Batman. he is talented but was not the right one for the role. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 6:56 pm

Jurassic Park - Movie Series
The first two movies were good. Lost World did a worse job following the book, but it was forgivable. Part three was terrible and far-fetched. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 6:50 pm

American Idol - TV Shows
Terrible show. This is part of why American TV has sunken to so many lows. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 6:48 pm

Lord of the Rings, The - Movie Series
The movies moved too slow. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 6:45 pm

Indiana Jones - Movie Series
The series is good, however, it took too long to make a 4th one. Crystal Skulls was good but the CGI in this (and many other movies) looks very fake. They should have used real monkeys and snakes and the gophers were unnecessary. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 6:41 pm

Terminator - Movie Series
This franchise has limped along for too long with a sequel coming out so sporadically. No interest in it anymore. Should have quit after Terminator 2. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 5, 2009, 6:38 pm

Family Guy - TV Shows
A lot of the jokes do go over many people's heads. You need to know your pop culture to get many of the references. Red Dawn - The Musicial was brilliant. -- Submitted By: (rick283) on April 5, 2009, 10:31 am

Flash Gordon (2007) - TV Shows
This version of Flash Gordon was nothing more than the SciFi channel trying to cash in on a classic science fiction source that hasn't been tapped since '96. Low budget + Peter Hume = crap! I do really feel sorry for all of the actors involved. I'm sure they thought they we're involved with something better than what actually was produced. -- Submitted By: () on April 4, 2009, 11:54 pm

Robert De Niro - Celebrities
DeNiro is one of those actors that at this point is living off his reputation for incredible films that he made an increasingly loooong time ago- after Heat and Ronin in the late 90's... there hasnt been a really good film with his name on it, the Analyze This and That films, as well as the "Meet the parents" films. Of course and there is the Co-Starring with 50 Cent film, Righteous Kill.... -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 4, 2009, 12:54 pm

Spider-Man - Movie Series
#3 was a huge disappointment. I didn't mind the silly emo Peter Parker that much, but the angsty drama got a little too annoying, and they threw too many villains in... Venom was completely wasted (he was on screen for, seriously, 15 minutes or so?), and the others got less development and screen time than they deserved. Just a case of trying to do too much at once, and doing all of it wrong as a result. -- Submitted By: (Hanglyman) on April 3, 2009, 1:20 pm

Michael Jackson - Celebrities
I used to love Michael Jackson when I was younger - all the stuff he did when he was with the Jackson 5, and Thriller, and the Bad Album. and I grew up listening to his music, especially I want you back, Billie Jean, Beat it, Wanna be startin something, Man in the mirror, etc. but now he has gotten so weird. especially that time when he dangled his son Blanket (or whatever his name is) over the balcony. even though his music is still good, it's hard to listen to it anymore without thinking of who is today. -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 3, 2009, 12:56 pm

Indiana Jones - Movie Series
I've submitted the CGI gophers from the beginning of Indy 4 as a reason- going into Indy 4, I didn't know what to expect, but I was encouraged by rumors that they were using minimum CGI so that it would fit the atmosphere of the previous 3 movies. The unforgivably fake-looking CGI gophers that appear almost immediately are an ominous sign of the absurdity to come, and when they show up AGAIN to do a goofy, cartoon-style double take, it becomes obvious that Lucas and Spielberg have lost their minds, all bets are off, and this movie is going to suck. Nuking the fridge just erases any lingering doubts. -- Submitted By: (Hanglyman) on April 3, 2009, 12:48 pm

Scooby Doo - TV Shows
I am not too familiar with Josie and the Pussycats, so I was not aware that Casey Casem did both voices in these two different cartoons. thanks for the info!! -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 3, 2009, 12:46 pm

Police Squad! (in color) - TV Shows
this show was really cool, but it wasn't on long enough. I don't remember it really well, only that they only made like a small handful of episodes. and it had a lot of sight gags that were impossible to catch, if you were watching it and doing something else at the same time. -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 3, 2009, 12:43 pm

Cosby Show, The - TV Shows
I always enjoyed this show in the very beginning. but then the kids got bigger, and they had to keep bringing in other kids to replace them (ie., Olivia). I also think it went on for about two seasons too long. they should have quit while they were still on top of there game. -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 3, 2009, 12:31 pm

St. Elsewhere - TV Shows
When I saw the series finale with the snow globe, I felt as though the writers and producers had just given the viewers a giant RASPBERRY for all the time and energy we'd spent following and caring about the series and its characters! And, decades later, my friends wondered why I wasn't willing to follow 'Lost' to the bitter end. . . -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 3, 2009, 7:02 am

Spider-Man - Movie Series
Kirsten Dunst was the biggest problem I had with these movies- Mary Jane is supposed to be HOT. Dunst's face looks so over sized and large, like a pumpkin, on screen and is so unattractive for the audience to look at as well as the ridiculous suspension of belief that her character is being fawned over by the other characters in the film. She adds nothing and only detracts from these films. I had to laugh when she threatened to boycott a potential 4th film, because they can't possibly cast someone else in your role. Oh No! Does that mean we dont get another moon face ugly Mary Jane appearance? I guess we can never have Spidey again without you Kirsten? -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 3, 2009, 6:40 am

Dancing With the Stars - TV Shows
I have to admit it! I watched the year Stacy Keibler got "boned." Did not watch it prior, Have not seen it since. -- Submitted By: (PatrickMchugh) on April 2, 2009, 9:23 pm

Scooby Doo - TV Shows
I liked Casey's Shaggy, too, but did you ever see the crossover eps with 'Josie and the Pussycats' when Casey also did their producer Alexander (who loathed his twin/Josie's nemesis Alexandra)? Casey didn't make even the tiniest attempt to differentiate between Shag and Alexander and if you closed your eyes, you'd have had NO idea which character was speaking. Mel Blanc, Casey ain't! Still, his voice helped give the show a great deal- especially since his frantic, high-strung delivery was exact opposite of Casey's 'normal' voice! My opinion of Scrabby's unprintable, I fear . -- Submitted By: () on April 2, 2009, 6:00 pm

A-Team, The - TV Shows
I think the "A-Team" suffered from what was network TV in the 80's- every episode must be self contained, no recurring character except the main ones, no long story arcs, no payoffs etc. The characters had about as much character development as a newspaper cartoon, it was the same story every week. I think that if you could put the A-Team into something like F/X, and have some violence and some character development like "Sons of Anarchy" or "The Shield" it would be way better- but for the 80's the show did about as much as it could have done under the large restraints placed on it as a show. But I do agree, they break Murdock out every week, how hard would it be to catch these guys? -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 2, 2009, 5:55 pm

Family Ties - TV Shows
Michael J. Fox rocked in his breakout role here. I liked Alex that tried so hard to mask his humanity via a crass exterior yet anyone who saw him interact with his family, friends and girlfriends knew his Napoleon complex was something he used to try to bluff himself more than anyone else. When I saw Tom Hanks and Geena Davis appear here, they'd both become major stars! The only problem here was that none of the other characters were more than one-dimensional (e.g. it would have been interesting to have found out that Stephen and Elyse were secretly greedy capitalists or that Mallory was more than a mall rat). -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 2, 2009, 5:53 pm

Addams Family, The - TV Shows
Has there been a cooler tv couple since Gomez and Morticia? -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 2, 2009, 5:43 pm

A-Team, The - TV Shows
Good question, Chubby Rain. I also wondered how it was that the Feds could never find them, yet anyone who wanted their services could. Hello, all they would have had to do is wait for them to break out Murdock from his mental hospital- again! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 2, 2009, 5:40 pm

Judas Priest - Music Groups
Despite the whole "Halford Coming Out of the Closet", and the whole cover-singer taking the lead of the band (Ripper Owens) Judas Priest rocks harder than ever- check out the new double album (or cd) "Nostradamus"- congratulations Judas Priest, you have remained true to your metal and music roots. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 2, 2009, 2:25 pm

Scrubs - TV Shows
The most accurate medical show on TV. I'm not being sarcastic, the characters act like real people do in a teaching hospital (fat black nurse with an attitude, anyone?). The ONLY error I have so far seen is that JD hangs the CXR backwards during the opening credits. However, this was actually used in a joke in season 1 (when the soon-to-be pathology resident is accused of killing a patient by hanging the CXR backwards). It's jumped... errr boned now that they've run out of jokes. But the first 3 seasons were outstanding. -- Submitted By: (dudemcdudenstein) on April 2, 2009, 2:16 pm

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood - TV Shows
The man never sold out. I think most people would agree he never boned the fish either. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 2, 2009, 1:46 pm

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood - TV Shows
I thought this show was really neat. and Fred Rogers did a good job explaining things to people of all ages. and I thought it was cool when he went on field trips to places like the post office. I don't think he ever BTF! -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 2, 2009, 12:51 pm

Silver Spoons - TV Shows
I always enjoyed this show too. I seem to rememeber there was an episode with Whitney Houston (When she was first getting to be famous), and she sang the song "Saving all my love for you." AWWW! I don't think this show ever BTF! -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 2, 2009, 12:45 pm

Scooby Doo - TV Shows
I always thought this show was lots of fun. and I especially thought it was cool that Kasey Kasem provided the voice of Shaggy! hee hee. I don't think it ever BTF! and I didn't really mind Scrappy Doo either. I thought he was kind of cute!!! -- Submitted By: (Riley2009) on April 2, 2009, 12:32 pm

Mad Max - Movie Series
After the great "Mad Max", and the even better follow up "The Road Warrior" there was a huge let down with the 3rd Installment of "Beyond Thunderdome". No cool cars, no real villain (Tina Turner?) and very few cool action sequences. Also there was the bizarre confusion of having the "Gyro Copter" actor from the second film in the third film as a "new character" which just was confusing. Then to top it off the annoying children living in the desert was really the BTF moment- this was like the Ewoks being added to "Star Wars" - just needless cuteness added to a franchise that didn't need this element for any reason accept to appeal to kids or some non "Mad Max" demographic -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 2, 2009, 8:14 am

Animaniacs - TV Shows
I liked the good idea vs bad idea segments on the show they were funny. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 2, 2009, 6:31 am

Star Trek - TV Shows
Despite some hokey 60's elements- this show still stands up today well beyond many other television shows due to the great writing, positive message, and incredible cast that was brought together on this show. Star Trek's original incarnation was a television classic that despite many imitations and other Star Trek series will never be matched or surpassed. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 2, 2009, 6:30 am

Wow. This show was amazing a very big shame on Scifi channel to let this one go. The dynamic between Fawkes and Hobbes was great. The premise of the show was great I really enjoyed this show and then... then they decided to cancel it very stupid. -End of rant- -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 2, 2009, 5:00 am

Gilmore Girls - TV Shows
I really liked this show although I feel the quality declined a few seasons later. The Rory-Lorelai feud lasted way too long (season 5?) And I still feel the season finale was rushed. Amy and Dan leaving didn't do the show any good either it wasn't awful after that but it just wasn't the same. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 2, 2009, 1:39 am

Friends - TV Shows
There were so many times this got boned . however; boiled down to essentials, it boned when the unrequitted pining (fill in any character) got fulfilled- and then the characters would have marriages and babies they (and the writers) tried to forget ASAP! They just didn't seem to know how to write believably, interesting- or(most importantly) humorous hookups! Then, too, the characters devolved into cartoons so that I think I quit caring about any of them (even my one time fave Phoebe) about four years before it finally ended. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 1, 2009, 11:25 am

Joey (TV series) - TV Shows
On the premiere episode, Joey asked his sister who was giving him a ride from the airport if her breasts had been enhanced- and then asked to FEEL them. EWWWWWWW!!!! Never watched a moment of it after that! YUCKITY YUCK YUCK!!! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 1, 2009, 11:19 am

Cloverfield - Movie Series
Sequal. I guess it can stay on as a series? In an interview with IGN, J. J. Abrams stated that they are still in talks with Paramount. Abrams thought (in his opinion) that it would be fun to work on something different. Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard have drawn up different stories for the sequel, but Abrams is only considering the idea of continuing Cloverfield. Paramount is still trying to seal the deal for the sequel. -- Submitted By: (Hikariu) on April 1, 2009, 10:36 am

Star Trek TNG - TV Shows
Wow- I forgot the "warp 5 speed limit" nonsense, the beginning of the politically correct era on TV indeed.... -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 1, 2009, 9:18 am

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (1985) - TV Shows
I had forgotten how idiotic Serpentor was- he looked like a pro wrester and had a bad accent- how could COBRA ever give this guy the top job over Cobra Commander? Scandalous! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 1, 2009, 9:17 am

Living With Fran - TV Shows
This is also a show I vaguely remember. I remember they guy being way younger and that "Maxwell Sheffield" was a guest star as Frannies ex. It was an enjoyable show but not all that great. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 1, 2009, 9:13 am

Karate Kid, The - Movie Series
On November 10, 2008, Variety reported that work on a Karate Kid remake had begun. It is to be renamed Kung Fu Kid. Variety states that the new film "has been refashioned as a star vehicle for Jaden Smith" and that it "will borrow elements of the original plot, wherein a bullied youth learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor." -- Submitted By: (Hikariu) on April 1, 2009, 8:52 am

Joey (TV series) - TV Shows
This show should never have happened period. It aired too soon after 'Friends'. I think that is the main reson of the early demise of this show. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 1, 2009, 8:51 am

Family Matters - TV Shows

Growing Pains - TV Shows
When Kirk Cameron became an annoying born again christian, it sort of Boned ever watching him as a fun partying "bad boy" teenager. How could you suspend belief of this guy ever again now that he was the spokesman for "Left Behind"? -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 1, 2009, 8:17 am

Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The - TV Shows
The television show that launched the career of Will Smith- and subjected us to "Hell Naw" and about a dozen awful movies. If mankind can invent time travel, I hope they go back in time and stop the creation of this show just to stop "Bad Boys 2" and "Wild Wild West" -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 1, 2009, 7:58 am

Blade - Movie Series
I love blade. Watch this all the time. Is there a Blu-Ray version of the series? -- Submitted By: (Hikariu) on April 1, 2009, 7:47 am

Prison Break - TV Shows
Whoops! meant avid fan not vivid fan in my last post. I have read that they want to make a spinn-off of the show with a female prison and a female being the main character. Yes I know what you guys are thinking but I think a lot of PB viewers including me will have a peek at the spin-off. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 1, 2009, 7:39 am

Jericho - TV Shows
Too bad they cancelled the show (again). It was a good show and was well written. I honestly don't think they will renew the show again even if the fans are still raving about it. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 1, 2009, 7:35 am

Freddie - TV Shows
I liked this show. Too bad it only lasted for one season. The Chris character was funny. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 1, 2009, 2:49 am

Grey's Anatomy - TV Shows
They should never let Denny come back. Leave the man alone! -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 1, 2009, 2:40 am

Friday Night Lights - TV Shows
It was announced yesterday that FNL will get a fourth and a fifth season. This is very good news but unfortunately NBC does not advertice this gem of a show enough. -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on April 1, 2009, 2:25 am
