Why did people watch this crap? Why did people think Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt were talented? I lived through the '90s and I didn't understand it then, and I don't understand it now. Who wants to watch a bunch of bickering whiners every week? I can find that on any internet forum sans multimillion dollar salaries. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on June 24, 2015, 9:16 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
It's hard to believe this dull show lasted as long as it did. From the annoying opening song, to the contrived endings in the bedroom, this show was painful to watch. Helen Hunt's career was blooming during this show, while Burke's was heading into the toilet. Paul Riser had some success early (Diner, Beverly Hills Cop, etc), but almost vanished after this terrible sit com finished it's dreary run. Now Helen has disappeared. It's the curse of Mad About You. A vortex of soul sucking. -- Submitted By: (Englebert) on June 13, 2014, 11:22 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Never watched one episode of this ever during its entire run...the only thing I ever enjoyed Paul Reiser in was ALIENS..thats it...but damn it was a memorable "character you love to hate" performance....I think most people when they see Paul Reiser think "Carter Burke" not "Buckman"..at least I do anyways. -- Submitted By: (richardparker) on November 1, 2013, 1:54 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
So many boning moments in this one. How about the ep where a college professor, played by Nathan Lane, once had an affair with Jamie (Nathan Lane as a stud = automatic bone) before she ever met Paul, and he thinks Paul is "out to get him" as a result of this. I didn't realize caveman thinking was still that prevalent in the 1990s. Just a horribly unfunny episode, and what is it about married people on TV exploiting their ex-affairs? Most married people I know rarely bring those up. I sure don't. My wife doesn't need, or want, to hear about them and neither do I. It's the past. It's not my life anymore. If they were so great, I'd be there and not here. That's real life. Only TV life seems to struggle with that, but this particular episode was just cringe-worthy. Or how about the episode where Steve Buscemi blames Paul for him ending up a subway token clerk, because Paul forgot to wake him up in time to take an exam or something? My first Steve Buscemi exposure and it had to be this. Next thing I saw him in was "Reservoir Dogs", and thought, "wow, he CAN act!" -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on September 14, 2012, 3:57 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
This show was so lame I can't even remember who or what it was about or any episodes! -- Submitted By: (LauDor08) on November 10, 2009, 2:06 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
It was the baby no doubt. The Big Divorce Tease was bad, but I still watched through that. But after the baby came along (and the whole "trying" drama) that was the last straw for me. And naming the kid MABEL??? Are you KIDDING me??? Also around this time Jamie went from being pretty cool with a mischievous side to outright hating Paul. It's as if the writers woke up one day and suddenly realized she wasn't a nagging man hating shrew like virtually every other woman on TV so they'd better make her one fast. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 9, 2009, 11:08 pm - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
Why did Jamie kiss that guy? Just killed it for me. And that actor she kissed, I still can't stand him as a result -- he is in that new Caprica thing and I can't get past the idea that he just about broke up the Buckmans. -- Submitted By: (msweller) on May 31, 2009, 8:35 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I don't know if it was Paul Reiser, or Helen Hunt, or maybe the stories, but I always hated this show. I think it might be Paul Reiser. I think I would rather watch an infomercial than this show and let me tell you, I hate infomercials. -- Submitted By: (JoeBagODonuts) on April 27, 2009, 3:34 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
