TV Shows - Lost
Lost is an American serial drama television series. It follows the lives of plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island, after a commercial passenger jet flying between Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles, United States crashes somewhere in the South Pacific. For the first three seasons each episode typically featured a primary storyline on the island as well as a secondary storyline from a previous point in a character's life, though the introduction of shifts forward in time and other time-related plot devices somewhat changed this formula for the latter half of the series. The pilot episode was first broadcast on September 22, 2004 and since then four full seasons have aired, with the fifth currently in progress, and a sixth set to be the final in 2010. The show airs on the ABC Network in the United States, as well as on regional networks in many other countries.

I feel Lost is the greatest show ever made and the reason is because it did "Bone the Fish". When the show looked like it could dry up, the creators of the show, Lindelof and Cuse, surprised us with Jack's Flash Forward ("We have to go back Kate"). This allowed the show to finish the way it started and went on to entertainment greatness. -- Submitted By: (jonkaplanseaver) on May 8, 2011, 4:59 pm - (-2 votes)

I couldn't get past the 5th season. The show REALLY suffered from writing on the fly. I picture the infinite monkeys writing that show. Terrible. -- Submitted By: (Googalslosh) on April 4, 2011, 6:32 pm - (0 votes)

I learned my lesson after getting burned by the X-Files all those years ago. I WON'T watch shows like this anymore. So I guess I'm glad that I never watched this show (or Heroes). I'm not going to invest years of my life being tantalized by lying TV producers with promises that are never kept. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on February 11, 2011, 1:25 am - (0 votes)

I was a loyal follower of this show, but Season 6 ruined it all, I wanted answers and all we got was more questions , I mean come on there are so many questions i'd fill the entire bandwidth moaning about it. Lindelof and Cuse with their smug grins after the finale like theyr gods or something , THEY SHOULD BE HUNG !! Why did that dude make the map on the hatch door and cut up the film, what was the dharma initiatives ultimate goal, whats the deal with matthew abadon and his past, what about charles whitmores flashbacks, what happened to clare after she disappeared with her fake dad, where did the first lot of "others" come from?????? Should i go on? -- Submitted By: (rikkihaslam) on February 10, 2011, 4:54 am - (1 votes)

I voted WTF is going on, for the main reason I really didn't watch the show much, and when I did, you were lost on what was going on. I guess it's one of those shows that you have to watch from beginning to end to understand what was going on. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 21, 2010, 5:29 am - (-1 votes)

I know--that cracked me up too. How many gazillion times did the creators publicly announce "No, no matter what, the ending will NOT be that everyone died--IN THE PLANE CRASH". They used that little qualifier as a sidestep around the fact that, of course, come series finale, guess what? EVERYONE WAS DEAD, lol. But they didn't *all* die in the plane crash, they all just died at different, unspecified points in time. The 'flash-sideways' gimmick was cranked out to divert the audience from the fact that the creators wound up the series in *precisely* the manner they said they were absolutely NOT going to do, just by engaging in a bit of slippery wordplay, and a plot device that was fairly lame, to put it mildly. Of course, by series end, they were laughing all the way to the bank, and the LOST culties were filling the bandwidths all attempting to come up with half-arsed rationalizations for the ripoff that had been perpetrated on them. That's showbiz, folks! -- Submitted By: (elainewood) on December 19, 2010, 4:26 pm - (1 votes)

Well, well, from all the media bombardment, it turns out that after ALL the stuff about time-travel, side-dimensions, nosebleeds, codes, Others, blah-blah-blah,etc. the WHOLE thing boiled down to 'We're all DEAD!' That's right "Losties" who stuck around to the end, you got SNOWGLOBED! Since it's the Christmas season, I'll just say "Merry Christmas" instead of "I TOLD you so!". -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on December 18, 2010, 3:09 pm - (0 votes)

Overrated from the word go, but it would've been salvageable if they'd been smart enough to call it quits after three seasons. Everything after that was just padding, and the whole 'flash-sideways' premise was simply a very lame device to drag the series out far beyond what ought to have been its natural lifespan. -- Submitted By: (elainewood) on December 9, 2010, 5:18 pm - (-1 votes)

Lost never boned. But it definitely could've done if they kept it going for much longer. Stayed strong until the end, with only a few weak moments. -- Submitted By: (cfc2011) on October 5, 2010, 8:15 am - (1 votes)

As much as I liked the concept of the show, as much as I liked nearly all of the characters and what they did, and how they all evolved and how the island had all of those secrets, the problem point occurred when the show stopped being all about that and started being about Jacob and Smokey/the man in black/jacob's brother. When that happened, everything changed to be about whatever it was they were doing and not about our Flight 815 castaways, or even "the others." And as for that ending, I was waiting for them to start singing "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" like at the end of "Mary Tyler Moore!" -- Submitted By: (TheDeanofNYC) on September 1, 2010, 12:40 am - (-1 votes)

Never boned. Glad it ended when it did. I thought the finale was perfect because I watched Lost for the characters and I thought the finale brought closure to their arcs, so for that reason I loved it. Sure, many of the island mysteries remained unsolved. What were the numbers about? Did Hurley and Ben in the end sink the island? What was the temple for? However, I think it was kind of cool to leave the ambiguity and let people come to their own conclusions. Good vs. evil, science vs. faith, second chances, redemption, all great themes in this show. Thanks for six wonderful seasons, Lost. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on May 25, 2010, 11:40 am - (1 votes)

It jumped when the Others had Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Locke surrounded...and let them go. And then a few episodes later concocted a very elaborate scheme involving Michael killing Ana Lucia and Libby so as to lure Jack, Kate, and Sawyer into their clutches.
But as I said, they had them surrounded a few episodes ago, why not take them then?
Also, why didn't Ben just ASK Jack to perform the surgery when they first landed? He probably would have said yes.
And finally, I love how the Others kept saying "we're not murderers", but Ethan killed the guy on the beach and nearly killed Charlie. And Goodwin killed a bunch of people, too.
Got lame after the 1st season ended.

Too many annoying characters getting too much air time. And also the story just got more and more unbelievable and cliched. It's truly tragic that a show with such great potential really went downhill so much that they aren't considered for the Emmy anymore after the first season. Second season was a real disaster. The story moves along at a snails pace while at the same time they introduce new mysteries instead of answering old ones in every episode. The final episode will be a real bummer because it will all be a dream or involve drugs or something like that.

Lost Boned some where in season 3. Taking them off the island was the worst thing that could happen.

Not a problem, kitchenbreak. Inasmuch as the 'Net and media in general will do their darnedest to saturate us with every nanosecond of the show from now until the next show they wanna hype, I have no doubt I'll hear all about it from all my Lost-ie aquaintances so there's no point in my tuning in. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on January 30, 2010, 7:20 pm - (-1 votes)

@ Pelirojo I correct myself not all of the ex-viewers of course. There is a video about how the creators of Lost will answer all the mysteries in one season or NOT. It's pretty funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1PAB6Sgdp8 -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on January 29, 2010, 8:54 am - (-1 votes)

I wonder how many viewers the series finale will get next year. Even people who were done with the show years ago would like to see how it ends right? -- Submitted By: (kitchenbreak) on December 31, 2009, 10:19 am-
Speaking at least for myself- WRONG! I'm not jumping through another set of hoops for a "St. Elsewhere" Snowglobe-type Finale and I've found plenty of other fish to fry/bone! It's been much more satisfying for me to admit that I made a mistake getting into the show in the first place , cut my losses and simply move on! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on December 31, 2009, 5:25 pm - (-1 votes)
