TV Shows - Alvin and the Chipmunks
Alvin and the Chipmunks is an American animated television series to feature the singing characters The Chipmunks, produced by Bagdasarian Productions in association with Ruby-Spears Enterprises from 1983-87, and DiC Enterprises from 1988 to 1990. It aired from 1983 to 1990 on NBC and was based on 1961 and 62's The Alvin Show.
The show introduced The Chipettes, three female versions of the Chipmunks with their own human counterpart, Miss Beatrice Miller (who joined the cast in 1986). In 1988, the show switched production companies to DiC Enterprises (with 11 additional episodes produced by Murakami-Wolf-Swenson) and was renamed just The Chipmunks.

When all the episodes were parodies of movies. By that point, it seemed like they were out of ideas and using movies as the basis of every episode was an easy way of continuing with new episodes. Not that I was ever a huge fan of this show. Too predictable. Alvin gets into trouble, Dave yells "Alvin!", they get out of the jam, they sing some kid friendly cover of an 80s hit, rinse and repeat. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on July 16, 2012, 3:04 pm - (2 votes)
