Movie Series - American Tail, An

Produced by Amblin entertainment and directed by Don Bluth, An American Tail was the story of a family of mice--Mama, Papa, Fievel, Tanya, and baby Yasha Mousekewitz--who fled Russia in hopes of finding a better life in the United States, under the impression that "There are no cats in America" and that "The streets are paved with cheese". As the ship heads for America, Fievel is lost at sea and presumed dead. When the mice arrive at their destination, they learn that there are indeed cats living in America, and Fievel, who survives at sea, meets the villainous Warren T. Rat, and befriends the streetwise Tony. An American Tail had a sequel, "Fievel Goes West", in which the Mousekewitz family, finding that life in the Bronx was not as glorious as they had hoped, head west by train to Green River.
