Movie Series - Halloween

Halloween is an American horror franchise that consists of nine films. The franchise focuses on the fictional character of Michael Myers who was committed to Smith's Grove Sanitarium as a child for the murder of his older sister. Fifteen years later, he escapes to stalk and kill the people of Haddonfield, Illinois while being chased by his former psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis. Michael's killings occur on the holiday of Halloween, on which all of the films primarily take place. In 2007, a remake of Halloween, written and directed by Rob Zombie, was released.

1 I don't agree that Halloween 3 boned it because it was a failed idea (that Carpenter would have a new, different Halloween story with each movie). I don't think 3 is a bad movie anyway, but it's easier to just to ignore it in the scheme of the main story. Halloween 1 is excellent of course, probably the best slasher of all time and one of the only ones that was well regarded by main stream critics; 2 is considered one of the stronger horror sequels of all time as well. 4 was an alright return; but I can remember things going downhill with 5. Anyone remember that 'cult' that appears later and was left unexplained? H20 was also a nice return of Jamie Lee. After that, the Halloween series is a mess and not worth watching. I didn't even bother with the remakes. -- Submitted By: (Scots) on January 21, 2014, 7:03 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

3 Halloween 3 boned it. THe first is a classic, and 2 was good enough to keep the series moving, but 3 was really pointless and bad. Despite some decent future movies(4, H2O, and the Zombie version of 2 are all pretty good), the series never recovered from the stupidity of 3. -- Submitted By: (ESmitty) on May 3, 2010, 3:41 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
4 You might say they boned when they did Halloween 2 because horror movies that film a sequel usually bone immediately. The reason they didn't bone at that time was that at the end of the first movie Michael Myers fell out of the window and when the Doctor looked out, Michael had vanished. Halloween 3 brought out all new people with a completely different storyline about a toy maker. It didn't totally stink but I don't see how or why they kept the Halloween name. -- Submitted By: (JoeBagODonuts) on April 27, 2009, 3:50 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
