1 Great company, they lasted very well in the console market, but they never had a chance since Nintendo and Sony did everything Sega did better. Plus Sega royally boned when they decided not to tell anybody about the launch of the Saturn. That basically killed the companies chances of lasting any longer. -- Submitted By: (Mr.Zimpy) on January 2, 2011, 7:06 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 I knew the "blast processing" was a lie. But I had a friend that was a die-hard Genesis fan. I think Street Fighter II might have been the knife that Super Nintendo dealt the fatal wound to Genesis. For a while, the game was exclusive to SNES. Then Genesis announced they were getting it. My friend pre-ordered it and was all set to show me how much better the Genesis version would be. Then I finally saw it and laughed at how pathetic it was. The Sega CD and 32X were also completely worthless. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on November 20, 2010, 2:37 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 The Nintendo-dissing commercials were what kept me away from Sega and turned me into a complete Nintendo fanboy. I could tell Sega was getting desperate when they claimed the Genesis had "blast processing" and the Super Nintendo didn't. They paid dearly when the truth came to light. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 14, 2010, 7:31 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
4 The whole blast processing fiasco really turned me off of Sega once I discovered it was all a lie. It also turned me off of Sonic in particular. Bashing Mario to make Sonic look cool was a bad marketing choice to put mildly. Badmouthing a beloved mascot to make your mascot look good by comparison only serves to do the opposite. -- Submitted By: (ExplodingConsole) on July 24, 2009, 2:11 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
