It didn't matter to me about the star's size but what bugged me about this was that, in the beginning at least, the show had potential to become a good classic comedy (e.g. when she's trying to keep her parents from meeting her teacher at school by faking being her own mother was almost 'I Love Lucy' in caliber). Problem is that it quickly devolved into a live action cartoon and it just seemed as though the writers, performers, etc. got lazy and went that route instead of trying to live up to their potential. I love this show actually. But they made some weird changes like Cory growing up and getting more storylines (foreshadowing Cory in the House?!) and Tonya leaving completely.
