Celebrities - Latrell Sprewell
Latrell Fontaine Sprewell (born September 8, 1970 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is a former American professional basketball player who last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2004-05 NBA season. Along with Sam Cassell, Sprewell helped Kevin Garnett and the Timberwolves make a run to the West Conference finals in 2003-2004.
A 6'5" (1.96 m) guard/forward, Sprewell is perhaps best known for choking P.J. Carlesimo, his then-coach with the Golden State Warriors. For this action, Sprewell was suspended for 68 games. He was an effective player on the court, making four All-Star teams while assisting the New York Knicks to the 1999 NBA Finals following his return to the league.

Nope, they definitely defended the coach choking by portraying SPREWELL as the victim. They also did the same thing with Todd Bertuzzi. Remember him? I think that might've been the proverbial Last Straw for me that resulted in canceling my subscription. In other words, it was a personal BTF moment for me as far as SI was concerned. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on March 4, 2010, 5:35 pm - (1 votes)

Please tell me you are talking about the "Family to feed" situation, and not the "Coach choking" situation -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on March 2, 2010, 12:46 am - (1 votes)

What was even worse is that SI (which I subscribed to at the time but don't anymore thank goodness) actually DEFENDED Sprewell and strongly hinted that anyone who was upset at him or the situation was a racist! I kid you not. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on March 1, 2010, 8:13 pm - (1 votes)

Turning down $21 Mil because you have a family to feed? No wonder people hate pro sports today. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on February 23, 2010, 3:37 am - (1 votes)
