Celebrities - Billy Mays

William Darrell "Billy" Mays, Jr. (July 20, 1958 - June 28, 2009)[3] was an American television direct-response advertisement salesperson most notable for promoting OxiClean, Orange Glo, and other cleaning, home-based, and maintenance products. His distinctive beard and loud sales pitches made him a recognized television presence in the United States. Mays was born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, and began his career as salesman on the Atlantic City boardwalk. He traveled across the United States for 12 years, selling various items before he was hired to sell OxiClean and other products on the Home Shopping Network. His success as a TV pitchman led him to found Mays Promotions, Inc. On April 15, 2009, the Discovery Channel began airing Pitchmen, a documentary series that featured Mays. On the morning of June 28, 2009, Mays's wife found him dead in his home.

2 I don't think that Billy Mays had ever boned. He was always appeared on your TV screen at anytime of the day. It was a sad day when he died because he basically got no coverage about his death because Michael Jackson got the most coverage on his death. -- Submitted By: (JBird) on May 9, 2010, 9:06 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
3 The fact that Billy Mays turned out to be just another snowblower (with his wife and kids claiming "not to know" yeah right) just proves what a stupid waste of time it is to put any of these celebs on a pedestal and how foolish it is to feel bad for them when they die as a result of their own ludicrous excesses. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 17, 2009, 2:05 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
4 Well no wonder he practically yelled when he did his pitches! He was all amped up on nose candy. -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on August 10, 2009, 8:59 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
5 Just revealed today that Billy Mays had cocaine in his system when he died. That explains his on-air persona. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on August 7, 2009, 4:04 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote

8 RIP Billy Mays. He could pitch anything. He could make SOAP sound like the greatest invention ever. -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on July 31, 2009, 5:18 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
9 Somebody needed to have the guts to vote Day 1, and I decided it might as well be me. I'm sorry he died, but that doesn't mean he was suddenly any less annoying in life. And I'm tired of seeing people pretend it did. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 13, 2009, 4:09 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
10 RIP shamwow! A full-volume pitchman, amped up like a candidate for a tranquilizer-gun takedown. -- Submitted By: (Hikariu) on July 1, 2009, 9:57 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
