Movie Series - Speed

Speed was a 1994 film starring Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bullock, Joe Morton and Jeff Daniels. Disgruntled bomb squad employee Howard Payne has fitted a bus with a bomb set to go off if its speed goes below 50 mph. He will manually detonate the bomb should anyone attempt to get off, or if his ransom demands are not met on time. In Speed 2: Cruise Control, which was released in 1997, a hacker controls a cruise liner and has set it on a collision course with an oil tanker.

1 I didn't think the first film was all that great. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on January 12, 2013, 6:32 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 To be honest the middle of the sequel was ok. Great action. But the premise that Sandra Bullock's character after getting involved with Keanu Reeves' from the first movie broke up with because she didn't like the way he always placed himself in danger. And then she another guy the one played by Jason Patric who unbeknownest to her is also a cop and a swat cop like Keanu's character. And why it would have been good for Keanu to have been there; was his character seeking help from Glenn Plummer's character. In the first one, he was the one whose car Keanu took to chase the bus and in the second one he would have taken his boat. To be frank, when Keanu didn't agree to do the movie, the producers should written off Glenn's character. His boat being taken would have been better is Keanu took it. -- Submitted By: (rony) on July 23, 2012, 11:41 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 This is really not even a series at all, they just took the Speed name and tried to "brand" it as a concept after the first film's success. Turned out it wasn't marketable on its own. A similar travesty is when Hollywood takes a successful brand from elsewhere (gaming culture for example) and tries to affix that brand onto some mediocre script treatment like Lara Croft or Monopoly etc. -- Submitted By: (baldrick) on May 22, 2010, 1:18 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
4 Another really unique film that was given a needlessly bad and pointless sequel, of course I have heard rumours of a Speed 3, we can only hope that this does not occur... -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on August 20, 2009, 7:13 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
