Music Groups - J. Geils Band, The
The J. Geils Band is an American rock band formed in 1967 in Worcester, Massachusetts, that had a successful R&B-influenced blues-rock sound in the 1970s, before moving towards a more pop-influenced sound in the 1980s, which brought them MTV airplay and their 1982 international hit single, "Centerfold." Since their initial break-up in 1983, the band has reunited several times.

You may not "think" they ever boned, but they did, even though it wasn't their fault. Like so many other bands in the 1980s, they were victims of "swelled head syndrome" and Peter Wolfe has that (present tense) bad, as to this day he has never admitted leaving the band was a shot in the foot. Have you ever heard "Concealed Weapons", from the one album they did after Wolfe left? EL BONO! If you heard that song without knowing it was J. Geils, you'd never guess it was them, not just because of Seth Justman's vocals, but also because it's completely non-reminiscent of J. Geils' style of music. In other words, they were still under contract, so they had to do "something". Why not phone it in? Not as good as "Centerfold"? "I Do" (the live version) puts "Concealed Weapons" to shame! -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on July 23, 2012, 4:30 pm - (0 votes)

The Jeopardy song was by Greg Kihn not the J.Geils Band. J. Geils's biggest hit was "Centerfold." Anyway, I don't think they ever boned. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on July 10, 2010, 6:10 pm - (0 votes)

I liked them in the 80s. The Jeopardy song has turned out to be a timeless hit. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 8, 2010, 10:23 pm - (-2 votes)
