1 This started out as a mission oriented drama with a little sprinkling of home life to soften the ever-so-tough "assasins" of the elite unit. It seemed obvious to me that someone wanted this show to be cancelled, so they began bone the fish by moving the time slots all over the place. They eventually cut the (fish)head off by having dumb episodes such as: 1) Mack having visions of talking with killed team-member Hector Williams (aka Hammerhead) to conjure up memories of the fatal shot to figure out who was the sniper. 2) The untrained wives are ordered to go undercover on a long-term mission to flush out homegrown terrorists. 3) A new YOUNG PUNK member is sent "Super Duper" undercover to fool the seasoned veterans of the unit by faking an attempted rape of a female unit member. -- Submitted By: (Understated) on December 10, 2010, 10:15 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
2 I think Evan227 you hit it right on the head. Who wouldn't want to watch elite Delta operators put into impossible situations that keep you on the edge of your seat each week.... Well, women and Sci-Fi nerds. I think they started trying too hard to change the audience of the show and it really caused it to bone. However, boned or not, if it comes down to watching "The Unit" or "The New Adventures of Old Christine" I know where my money is going. It's not going Julia Louis-Dreyfus, just to make that clear. -- Submitted By: (dr_sarcastor) on September 11, 2010, 4:53 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
3 What started out as a good military drama with espionage angles and good writing deserved cancellation mid way through the third season. So now the wives are forceably relocated secret agents and the army essentially forces infants and young kids to live apart from their mother so they can use her in a domestic sting? Did the army draft the wives and give them a crash course in espionage so that they could hang out with their husbands more? It was odd enough that the Unit adopted the "Red Cap" lady character in (as if the elite Delta Force unit would just take in regular army soldiers as operators because they were fond of them after helping in a mission). Then it really got silly; Jonas is tasked to steal the spear that stabbed Jesus from some monks and has to return it for karma so Mack can come back to life? (What does that plot-line have to do with espionage military drama - this isn't a magic artifact type of show). Some one in production de-boned the fish, half the meat and then tried to repackage it as rotten boneless chicken. -- Submitted By: (Evan227) on March 23, 2010, 12:12 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
