Random Topics - St. Patrick's Day
Saint Patrick's Day, colloquially St. Paddy's Day or simply Paddy's Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on 17th of March. Today, however, it has been geared more towards a holiday celebrating the consumption of alcohol.

Parker Tillman: How do you know that *wasn't* the real reason for the snakes being driven out? ;-) Gotta love how this is the only day of the year anybody wears green. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 30, 2012, 8:05 pm - (0 votes)

I like the concept of St. Patrick's Day, but I don't like how it's a free pass for people to get hammered and act like idiots. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on August 29, 2012, 1:25 am - (0 votes)

I don't care about green beer or people celebrating this holiday, but when it's used as an excuse for people to get piss drunk and act like loud obnoxious buttholes on the LIRR it boned the fish. St. Patrick didn't drive the snakes out of Ireland so he could get drunk without having to worry about getting bit. -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on August 28, 2012, 1:41 pm - (0 votes)

JustLooking, there are forty million Americans of Irish ancestry. That might have something to do with it. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on May 8, 2011, 9:27 pm - (0 votes)

I never could understand why here (in North America), we celebrate an Irish "holiday".
Makes no sense at all. And don't even get me started on that ridiculous green beer thing. -- Submitted By: (JustLooking) on November 22, 2010, 8:01 pm - (0 votes)
