I acknowledge that he is a great talent and has brought years of great writing of the Simpsons (in its golden years) and Futurama. However, the fact that the Simpsons is still on is pretty suspicious as he seems not to want to let it go. Also, in some ways he is like Seth MacFarlane not being able to take criticism of his work and directly attacking anyone who says so.
If he let the Simpsons retire early at a good stage he would probably have never boned, however he has lost it just at that. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on May 1, 2010, 1:54 am - (1 votes)

Boned the whale is right, MCS. Here are some links about Matt Groening's reaction to The Critic crossover (the episode was called "A Star is Burns"): http://www.critic.nohomers.net/Special_Extras_Matt_Groening_Reaction.html ...and the wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Star_Is_Burns -- Submitted By: (Robert) on March 2, 2010, 11:17 am - (1 votes)

I still find it amusing how he was throwing a hissy fit over The Critic appearing in The Simpsons. He felt adding a character from another show would have cheapened the Simpsons. Odd how he doesn't mind the awful writing in recent years doing far worse to the Simpsons than the episode featuring Jay Sherman ever did. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 27, 2010, 2:44 pm - (2 votes)
