TV Shows - Adventures of the Gummi Bears, The

Adventures of the Gummi Bears was an animated television series created by Disney. It was about a race of anthropomorphic bears, the remnants of a once-great civilization sent into exile by humans who were jealous of their magic and advancements. From the kingdom of Dunwyn is a boy named Cavin, who has a Gummi medallion. He accidentally stumbles upon their secret home, the Gummi Glen. When his medallion unlocks the Great Book of Gummi, the six bears living in the glen resolve to rediscover their lost heritage. They are also discovered by Princess Calla, and both children swear secrecy. The antagonist is Duke Sigmund Igthorn, who leads an army of ogres. He learns of the Gummis' existence, and plans to use their magic potion, Gummiberry Juice, to gain strength and take over Durwyn. The six original Gummi bears were Gruffi Gummi (voiced by Bill Scott in Season 1, and Corey Burton from Seasons 2-6), Granni Gummi (voiced by June Foray), Zummi Gummi (voiced by Paul Winchell from Seasons 1-5, and Jim Cummings in Season 6), Tummi Gummi (voiced by Lorezo Music), Sunny Gummi (voiced by Katie Leigh), and Cubbi Gummi (voiced by Noel North). A seventh Gummi, Gusto Gummi (voiced by Rob Paulsen), joins the cast later on.

1 This was a quality cartoon, a great way to start off the Disney Afternoon after school. The idea sprang from Michael Eisner's son wanting the Gummi Bear candy -- Submitted By: (BradJames) on January 12, 2015, 11:21 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 This show was something for me to look forward to on Saturday mornings - how I enjoyed the opening theme. Here was another project that involved Lorenzo Music (he was the voice of Tummi Gummi). -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on October 21, 2010, 9:42 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
