Random Topics - Greenpeace

Greenpeace is an environmentalist group. It was originally known as the Greenpeace Foundation, founded in 1971 Vancouver, British Columbia. It is considered an eco-terrorist group since it often uses violent means to achieve its goals. They are also criticized for causing damage to the environment by their actions. Greenpeace member and co-founder Canadian Ecologist Patrick Moore left the organization in 1986 after the group pushed for a ban on chlorine in drinking water, which Moore called "the biggest advance in the history of public health" and "essential for our health." He also argues that Greenpeace is now motivated by politics rather than science, and has said, "I also had no idea that after I left in 1986 they would evolve into a band of scientific illiterates who use Gestapo tactics to silence people who wish to express their views in a civilized forum."

1 When the founder renounces any involvement in the group he/she started, you know the group boned. That's exactly the scenario with Greenpeace. Even Patrick Moore can see that this group was hijacked by extreme liberals. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on April 30, 2011, 6:07 pm - (5 votes) - Login to Vote

3 When I heard about how their influenced managed to cause the government of Zambia reject food (that was genetically modified) that could feed many hungry residents, that was the end of my respect for Greenpeace. They are selfish, selfish, selfish. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on May 16, 2010, 3:49 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
