Movie Series - Psycho
Psycho was a 1960 thriller by Alfred Hitchcock. It was based on the novel of the same name written by Robert Bloch, which itself was based on the crimes of Wisconsin serial killer Ed Gein. It has two sequels, Psycho II and Psycho III (released in 1983 and 1986, respectively), a prequel, Pscyho IV: The Beginning (released in 1990 and made-for-television), and a 1998 remake. The movie starred Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates, the villanous motel owner.

I have only seen the original Hitchcock version, so I cannot rightfully say when it boned if it ever did. However, the original could have easily been a strong standalone film in itself; on the other hand it has some legitimate basis for how a sequel could come about as the villain was still alive in the end. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on June 10, 2010, 4:52 pm |

Hitchcock proved his genius with the original! I mean all that SCREECHY violin stuff has scared the audience. . .witless for decades in spite of the fact that in none of the dozens of shots used in the shower scene was the knife depicted actually stabbing her. Oh, and it kept Janet Leigh nervous about taking showers the rest of her life! No point in remaking it or doing sequels, though. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on December 22, 2009, 11:41 am |
