TV Shows - New Mission: Impossible, The
A revival of the 1966 series, Mission: Impossible, The New Mission: Impossible reprised Peter Graves as Jim Phelps, though now as an elder. Taking place 15 years after the original series, Jim Phelps was called out of retirement to track down the one who killed his protege. He makes a new team which includes Nicholas Black as the disguise expert, Max Harte as the tough guy, Casey Randall as the obligatory female operative, and Grant Collier, son of the original technology expert Barney Collier. This series ran from 1988 to 1990 on ABC.

The original was a classic. As were Maverick, Bonanza, Perry Mason, Star Trek, Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Jonny Quest, and many others. Actually it was never called "New" just Mission:Impossible. This updated version came out because of a writer's strike during the time and networks recycled old plots. Star Trek:TNG came out of this too actually. -- Submitted By: (JamesO) on August 19, 2010, 5:17 pm - (0 votes)
