Random Topics - Temp Agencies
Staffing companies that place employees on "temporary" assignments lasting anywhere from 1 day to indefinitely. Depending on the state of the ecomony, at times this can be very lucrative and often, is the best way to get one's foot in the door at a company.

My first few months after moving to Seattle saw me in the temp world. It was one of the most depressing, humiliating periods in my life; I always felt utterly valueless at the end of the day. To borrow a bit of Vietnam-era Army lingo, I felt - and was generally treated - like the FNG. So in later years, when I became a manager and needed the services of a temp agency, I would treat my temps EXTREMELY well, and I made sure my staff did too. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on May 6, 2011, 2:04 am - (0 votes)

I worked through temp agencies a few times. I enjoyed it!It's great if you are new to the workforce, if you have little or no experience, or if you are recommending a job to a friend! Although I'm close to getting my Bachelor's, I would still recommend temp agencies. -- Submitted By: (SVN) on November 6, 2009, 9:09 pm - (0 votes)

Temping can be cool, but you better hope and pray you NEVER get sick. You could have the swine flu and be calling them from the hospital and those account execs at the agency suddenly morph into Godzilla and punish you with a vengeance of a mortal enemy. -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on September 18, 2009, 3:52 pm - (0 votes)
