Bill Maher finally said something that I agree with. He said that Islamic extremists are more dangerous than Christian fundies in a debate with some left-wing loon. There may be some hope for this guy after all. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 24, 2013, 6:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
@Jp, he falls short of 1/8 of what you said. At the very best. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on August 5, 2011, 2:48 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Bill Maher wishes he was an 1/8 the man, comic, and of intelligence as George Carlin. That's all I have to say about him. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on August 4, 2011, 6:58 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
1. I don't like extremes on either side, either. But conservative-bashers do what people criticize liberal-bashers for doing: posing as tolerant while viciously attacking the other side, using religion as a tool to push their agendas, using scare tacticians (in this case, Maher) to spread the word that the other side will send us back to the stone ages, claiming the other side is hijacking religion (while doing so themselves), etc. 2. It is acceptable for a person of either leaning (left or right) to accept ideas from the other side. I know some Democrats who do NOT agree with Communism or socialism, and I know of some Republicans who think abortion should be legal. 3. Bill Maher may not kowtow to religion, but all he does is namecall anyone who doesn't think the way he does. This is "speaking the truth"? Namecalling people you don't agree with? 4. I don't know that much about Glenn Beck, but I doubt he's as hatefilled as Maher. Hate comes from both sides of the political spectrum. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 8, 2010, 1:43 pm - (5 votes) - Login to Vote
Sseriously, does DolFan 316 sound very much like the type of nutcase my post was referring to? And as to the 'red hair' crack, I've no idea WTF you're talking about--I'm a brunette, and as far as I'm aware, you don't know me. And I very much prefer keeping it that way, kaythx? -- Submitted By: (elainewood) on November 8, 2010, 9:35 am - (-3 votes) - Login to Vote
Seriously, does Elainewood remind anybody else of a certain troublemaker who bashed this site a while back? One who had red hair? Hopefully the recent elections are the start of the American people FINALLY waking up and realizing who's REALLY out to take our rights way and destroy this nation from within! -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on November 7, 2010, 8:39 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
For the record ElaineWood, I don't like Glenn Beck either. I hate both extreme sides. I hate Bill Maher as much as I hate Glenn Beck. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on November 7, 2010, 10:37 am - (6 votes) - Login to Vote
Yeah, I know I'd so much rather watch someone like Glen Beck, with his whiny, ex-rodeo clown, pseudo-patriotic showmanship, and his phony blubbering-on-cue. Not to mention his rabid baiting of anyone who doesn't agree with HIS views. (I love the way liberal-bashers attempt to make it sound as if the rightwing blowhards are the voices of sweetest reason, while anyone who qualifies as even mildly 'left' is a flame-breathing, acid-spitting madman. I think you guys who actually try to spin this view are pretty actively deluding yourselves.) Maher doesn't kowtow to the religious right wingnuts and tea-party types who're attempting to use the rhetoric of 'government spending' to rewrite the role of government into providing zero social safety nets whatsoever, and deliver America back into the hands of the churches through making all social welfare the prerogative of some medieval religious feudal state. If you can't use the power of law to make everyone bow to a state-sponsored religion, then you twist the economy into a state that forces this paradigm into being. Maher's trying to warn Americans as to just what the far right is actually trying to use Christianity and the church for. And, as usual, Americans in the mass don't want to listen to it--until it's too late, and then they run around crying for their 'rights' to be restored by the very same people who's intention it was all along to take those Constitutional and Bill of Rights protections away from the people in the first place. -- Submitted By: (elainewood) on November 7, 2010, 6:53 am - (-4 votes) - Login to Vote
Agree with Robert. Bill Maher only "tells it like it is" if you agree with his anti-religious, pro-liberal views. I don't. I think he's a whiny windbag who should be thrown off the air for smoking pot on TV with the guy from The Hangover. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on November 6, 2010, 6:31 pm - (5 votes) - Login to Vote
"Such hate." Yes, Bill Maher DOES spew such hate. Oh, wait. You're referring to us? "Bill Maher tells it like it is." Seriously? And these these people call themselves "freethinkers" when they mindlessly agree with people like Bill Maher, just because they bash religion or its followers. "Bible pounders." Yeah, aren't we just soooo hatefilled because we don't like having our beliefs insulted by an intolerant anti-religious bigot? Believe it or not, JustLooking, intolerance can be practiced by atheists, not just Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 6, 2010, 12:20 pm - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
WOW ... such hate. Bill tells it like it is. If you bible pounders don't like it, too bad. -- Submitted By: (JustLooking) on November 5, 2010, 7:59 pm - (-5 votes) - Login to Vote
Seven months after my previous post, and he's still proving me right. I didn't even have to pay him to shill! Well, if Christians are "Shitkickers", he should be jealous: poor Billy has to live with being a ShitHEAD. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on October 28, 2010, 7:41 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote

So I heard this clown talking about the Christian "shitkickers" and whatnot protesting the legalization of pot. I understand that you may not agree with the viewpoints of a certain group of people, but it just isn't civil to allpy a hateful term to these people, especially if it's a term that can overwhelmingly be applied to yourself. -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on October 25, 2010, 6:15 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
This man might be the single worst human being on the planet, and I say that with all seriousness. He is nothing but a hate filled, way to the left, intolerant, bigoted lunatic who if he had his way would make the world completely Communistic and Socialistic. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on May 27, 2010, 12:02 pm - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
i would'nt piss on him if he was on fire -- Submitted By: (vorenus) on May 27, 2010, 7:58 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Agree wholeheartedly. Maher is the worst. Literally, he's the worst human being in America today. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on March 4, 2010, 5:56 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
This guy is one of the most hatefilled and intolerant celebrities ever. Look, I already know there are lots of intolerant people of all parties, races, religions, etc., but this guy? Yeesh. If you're not a part of the solution, you're a part of the problem, and when it comes to hate and intolerance, he seems proud to be a large part of the latter. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on March 2, 2010, 4:35 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
