Yeah, it's run it's course and should be axed. But it did have some laugh out loud moments. My fav is when the family was watching Happy Days. Richie, his sister, and mom and dad are eating breakfast and our of nowhere Richie says, "I really like Potsie." Nobody says anything and Richie says, "I mean I REALLY like Potsie." Nobody looks up from their food but the dad says calmly, "You have a homosexual attachment to your best friend. We KNOW." That was so freakin' funny because anyone who ever saw Happy Days was thinking that Richie and Potsie polished each other's banana. -- Submitted By: (spacer) on December 13, 2014, 5:54 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Dear Seth McFalane, please retire and take Peter with you. On the way, drop Brian off at the pound, deliver Stewie to the hospital for criminally insane children, abandon Meg at the bus station, and push Chris off a bridge. You can let Lois have the house, maybe she will find a decent family to live in it. Oh, and please burn every last copy of every Conway Twitty song ever recorded. Seriously, this show was funny a long, long, long time ago but it has jumped the bone so many times I don't know where to start. How about with Stewie? Is he gay or straight? Please figure it out and get back to us. One episode he's hittin' on all the boys, the next he's hittin' on all the girls. And why the hell does a baby have a sexual identity crisis anyway? I really love my big flat screen but I came close to putting an axe through it when you introduced Vinny. My god man, have you no shame? And please, no more musical production numbers, ever! I saw an interview and you said you were proud that you had every 15-year old boy in the country dancing and singing Shipoopi. You really are deluded. Or evil. I haven't decided which. -- Submitted By: (martymarty) on August 4, 2014, 3:29 pm - (6 votes) - Login to Vote
And Brian's dead...in his place is Vinnie, who sounds like your stereotypical mobster. They thought this was a good idea because? -- Submitted By: (Burmy) on November 25, 2013, 3:35 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Well, if the show hadn't jumped the shark years ago, it would have last night. According to the news, they killed off Brian. How is that news? I guess they have to put it in the news because, otherwise, no one would know about it. People stopped watching this show years ago. -- Submitted By: (TheCeej) on November 25, 2013, 12:00 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Ryantee82, this is the third time in a row you bring up the "Laura Bush killed a guy" reason. Why so obsessed? -- Submitted By: (Robert) on September 20, 2013, 10:19 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
"Laura Bush killed a guy!" That's really what pissed you off about this show? Really? Its too bad you never actually saw that episode, you're just going by what your friend mass-emailed you and told you what to be upset about. Go watch the clip on youtube. Its actually really innocuous, dead-ended and unfunny. I mean, for shit's sake, Peter walks in dressed as Jackie O.. but I digress, that would require a history book. -- Submitted By: (ryantee82) on September 18, 2013, 3:24 am - (-4 votes) - Login to Vote
The Laura Bush thing: Middle America housewives emailing each other and telling each other to vote for that on this board. That's how that happened. -- Submitted By: (ryantee82) on August 26, 2013, 6:56 pm - (-3 votes) - Login to Vote
I always think the forever running gag of the show is everytime Peter or one of the characters starts off "It reminds me of that time when" and then a theorized flashback comes up. It just tries hard to be funny. I missed out on it's "uncensored" days, though. But I've seen shows where they were shot down because they were too rational, good, but too rational. Then they resurface and it's like they've been castrated on what balls they had before to do what they did in the first place. So, now they continue to have their run but it seems like after every episode, they sort of turn over their shoulder, so they make sure they're making their network happy before resuming. That's the impression I get from Family Guy. Back then, a certain few crowds got the jokes and laughed with it. And the ones who didn't were left standing there going "HUH?!" because it flies over their head. But now, they're laughing at the new jokes the series has made since it's revival. While the same few crowds before are now just shaking their heads while the ones who never got it in the first place are getting all the laughs. Simply because the waters are different. Stupid people laugh at stupid jokes. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on August 22, 2013, 12:47 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The episode in which Peter was made into a retard was "Petarded". Like The Simpsons and Spongebob Squarepants, Family Guy is also guilty of using the "make the idiot dumber with every season" schtick. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on July 6, 2013, 4:03 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The first couple episodes of this show weren't bad, but once the show was revived, this show took a turn for the worst. They still do have some clever jokes, but Family Guy has dropped in quality. Peter was made mentally retarded (IIRC they even did an episode about it), so they have of course used this to make him the typical nuisance/danger to everyone around him, including himself. Stewie was changed from a genius to some kind of homosexual stereotype or something (I can't tell). Brian is now just there for the political humor. Meg only exists to be the butt of jokes and to be bullied which isn't funny. Characters like Cleveland were written out, which sucks. And some of the jokes and pacing of this show are terribly boring. Some jokes are recycled, while some cutaway/flashback jokes seem to drag on forever. The potty humor does not save this show, either.... Another show that was resurrected from cancellation and became a shell of it's former self. Beavis and Butthead and Futurama pulled off their revival series successfully and I don't know how. But as for Family Guy, remote, please. -- Submitted By: (Crewman) on July 3, 2013, 1:01 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
When this show first started out I was among those that really enjoyed it, but it has not been very funny in years. Oddly enough it's spinoff "The Cleveland Show" is more entertaining(and it's not that great either). -- Submitted By: (JMoose) on November 28, 2012, 6:16 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
The only thing dumber than Family Guy is Family Guy fans. I've lurked on their message boards before. They all seem to be about 14 years old and don't get any of the pop culture references that the show relies on. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on July 7, 2012, 7:33 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Make that 37 now, all because of you. BTW you'll find that calling people bitch on here won't get you very far. What are you, 12? -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 7, 2012, 12:49 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
"Laura Bush killed a guy!" -- "Seth MacFarlane has NO SHAME or sense of decency" LMAO ^_^ Bitch, you obviously don't understand the show. Also, its cute you got your two fat housewife friends together and stuffed the ballot box for this option. No way in hell did 36 seperate people chose THAT as their option. -- Submitted By: (ryantee82) on July 7, 2012, 2:11 am - (-4 votes) - Login to Vote
Might have been the case years ago, but the only people that would say that now are Family Guy fan boys who don't get real humor -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on June 20, 2012, 1:41 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I can't believe the writers of this show demand to be nominated for the best comedy show emmy. Best comedy show? It's not even the best animated show. Not by a longshot. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on June 19, 2012, 5:39 pm - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
Maybe I missed something, but I never understood why Meg was treated so badly by everyone. I found it really off-putting. I also had issues with how some of the (really not funny) gags would drag on for an ice age. -- Submitted By: (Bryan527) on May 23, 2012, 1:13 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
It's ironic how this show was brought back in 2005 because of the college crowd who watched it for its intelligent humor. But when it returned it selfishly turned its back on them to instead appeal to the a wider audience of mainstream idiots. -- Submitted By: () on May 8, 2012, 11:29 am - (7 votes) - Login to Vote
AGreed with the naysayers. No wodner Lacey Chabert left Meg Griffin's voice. [of course stunt casting like having her as the voice was becoming common-"Lion King", anyone?] -- Submitted By: () on January 12, 2012, 9:46 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Never had anything against the show. More like I have something against the people who watch it. I mean seriously, are fans of this show even able to go outside without a helmet? It has no humor. All it consists of are pop culture references (not jokes, they're just references), unfunny political satire (always with liberal undertones), and the cutaway gags! Easily the worst part of the show. Obviously just filler due to the writers' incompetence to write actual funny situations and stories. Fans might think I'm just a prude, but really, I'm not. Family Guy isn't offensive at all, it's actually pretty gutless. Its core demographic consists of 14-21 year old white males. How are racist jokes and/or sexual innuendos supposed to offend 14-21 year old white males? They're not. They're made to give these mongoloids who watch the show a smug sense of superiority, while offending prudes, minorities, or perhaps devout Christians. This show sucks, boned many years ago. Was tolerable until it got canceled, then it just went straight downhill from there. A wannabe South Park, but an unfunny one at that. -- Submitted By: () on January 11, 2012, 9:22 pm - (6 votes) - Login to Vote
