Movie Series - City Slickers

City Slickers is a 1991 comedy film starring Bill Murray as Mitch Robbins, Daniel Stern as Phil Berquist, Bruno Kirby as Ed Furillo, and Jack Palance as Curly Washburn. As a gift for Mitch's 39th birthday, the trio go to New Mexico to learn how to be cowboys for a cattle drive. They get help from T.R. and Jeff, a pair of professional cowboys, and the trail boss, Curly. In 1994, City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold was released in theatres. Jon Lovitz plays as Mitch's brother Glen, replacing Bruno Kirby as Ed.

1 It wasn't that the sequel was horrible, but it was just OK, and following a classic like the original it was going to be disappointing being "just OK". Lovitz was funny, but Kirby should have been brought back. Where was he supposed to be anyway? The whole "Curly's twin brother" thing seemed contrived. -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on July 26, 2012, 4:53 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
2 I'm going to have to go against the tide on this one. I like both City Slickers movies. To me, Jon Lovitz is hilarious. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on March 11, 2012, 12:53 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 Again the sequel syndrome. The first is a comedy classic and the second reunites the same characters only without any cohesive storyline. -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on November 28, 2010, 5:12 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
4 The first movie is a classic. It was a good standalone that did not even come close to deserving a sequel. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on September 28, 2009, 9:40 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
5 Hilarious first movie with Mitch and his dorky friends going from total city klutzes to REALLY getting into their cowboy modes to save the day (and the golden calf named Norman)! Unfortunately, there was no point in having a sequel and going back to the well that one extra time proved painful to watch! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on September 21, 2009, 7:28 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
