Werewolf was a must-see show in my household in 1987, and one of the biggest reasons was the late Chuck Connors as Janos Skorzeny (the alleged "head of the bloodline" at the outset of the series, college student/newly sired werewolf Eric Cord tried to track him down). I've read on a few sources that Connors left because he wanted more money per episode but was denied. So they killed off Skorzeny, which in itself was a shame because Connors was great in that role. To make matters worse, they replaced him with Brian Thompson as the more ancient (2,000-year-old) Nicolas Remy, and to put it bluntly, he was just flat and unconvincing; maybe the character hadn't been developed well enough, but then looking at Thompson's career since, it's mainly been guest/recurring roles on various sci-fi shows. -- Submitted By: (markrabo) on September 19, 2009, 8:36 am - (0 votes)
