Robert Mario De Niro, Jr. (born August 17, 1943) is a two-time Academy Award-winning American actor, director and producer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors of all time.
De Niro is noted for his method acting and portrayals of conflicted, troubled characters and for his enduring collaboration with director Martin Scorsese. Deniro is the reason as a fan you follow writers and directors- NOT actors. "good" Deniro films just happen to be- Michael Mann/ Martin Scorsese/ Francis Ford Coppola Films for the most part. Now he has this built in "reputation" but remembering that actors are just slightly more intelligent than your average couch, they are as good or bad as the people that make movies. Ive been aware of Deniro's Shark Jump into any lousy film that give him a paycheck for a loooong time. Most of the current (younger) idiots that "like" the "concept" of Robert Deniro think he was cool becuase he co-starred with 50 Cent in "righteous Kill" and is in the "Ultra Funny" - "Meet the Fokkers"- wow that Gag's SOOO Fuunnnnny after the 1000th time! I saw De Niro on the list and thought...no f-ing way! He'll never bone. So, I pulled up imdb... Here are De Niro's movies from the last five years: Righteous Kill, What Just Happened, Stardust, The Good Shepherd, Hide and Seek, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, Meet the Fockers, Shark Tale, and Godsend. DeNiro is one of those actors that at this point is living off his reputation for incredible films that he made an increasingly loooong time ago- after Heat and Ronin in the late 90's... there hasnt been a really good film with his name on it, the Analyze This and That films, as well as the "Meet the parents" films.
