Archie Comics Comments (You must Login to Comment)

Oh yeah, I forgot about that Obama/Palin comic. The cover showed them sharing a soda. As if. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on August 14, 2012, 10:01 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Let me second my comment from 2009- hated Archie as a kid, and it seems to be a "message" comic now- whatever is in the news ends up in Archie- "Hey Obama is in Riverdale, lets have him talk to the new Gay kid that hangs with Jughead about equality"- No thanks. I'll just read "Gantz" - (A hyper violent Japanese Manga with no morals, values or current events news programming)- in fact, if you hate Archie, read Gantz, it's the polar opposite. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on August 12, 2012, 8:56 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I always loved reading Archies and I'm just wondering if they were just giving into political correctness by adding a gay character to the gang. Not that there's anything wrong with it. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on August 9, 2012, 5:50 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I think it will be Jughead if anyone because he always had a "get away" attitude toward girls back in the old comics. We used to simply assume such people were immature, not gay, but now times have changed and they're automatically gay. There will be no further discussion of this. HEIL! -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on August 6, 2012, 4:56 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Kevin the gay character is getting his own title. I hated Archie comics before they became overtly politically correct, so hating Archie and the Archie brand of comics is staying the same for me. http://westfieldcomics.com/comic-books/Veronica-Veronica-Presents-Kevin-Keller-1/11040848 -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 24, 2011, 5:50 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Perhaps the next story arc can explore Mr Weatherbee's decision to get a sex-change operation. (Granted, South Park beat them to that one....) -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on April 15, 2011, 2:09 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Archie started to suck when the artwork stayed the same, nobody ever changed, nothing ever changed, and some stories were recycled and consited of lame jokes. -- Submitted By: (Mr.Zimpy) on January 2, 2011, 5:19 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Archie Comics already boned to some extent with the dynamic art (I miss the old animation!). To add a gay character to the comic would probably be a step in the wrong direction, in my opinion. -- Submitted By: (MacFan95) on April 27, 2010, 5:35 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I foresee Mr. Parent's plan being changed in favor of having some ancillary character come out- Moose, Jughead etc. and then it will be billed as a proper change for the comic to reflect current values. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 27, 2010, 10:57 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
From the Washington Post: As for whether any other Riverdale students will be gay, (Archie artist-writer Dan) Parent has said: "Traditional Riverdale characters won't be coming out." -- Submitted By: (Robert) on April 27, 2010, 8:46 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I saw today on the news that Archie Comics is adding a new openly character to the comic- called "Kevin"- he beats Jughead in a hamburger eating contest and then rebuffs all the girls that flirt with him. Thanks for making Riverdale a more politically correct diverse place- Boned a long time ago, this is just another fillet on the platter! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 26, 2010, 4:14 pm - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
Never liked the comic, and seeing that these guys are quite a bit sue happy as well... wow. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 10, 2009, 4:41 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
I could always take or leave them but never really felt like going out of my way to read 'em or see the cartoons. Lucky you had Archie Comics in your doctors' waiting room as a kid. ALL I got to read were "Highlights" magazines at my pediatricians (anyone else get tired of 'Goofus and Gallant'?)! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on October 17, 2009, 11:38 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I hated having these comics as the only thing to read at the doctors office or barber as a kid- and now Archie is getting married- and apparently to cave to whatever lunatics are fans of this awful comic they did a marrige issue with Veronica, then one with Betty- wow way to have some courage on an already horrible concept and comic- Archie has boned, bones and will continue to bone- who reads this stuff? -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on October 12, 2009, 4:02 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
