Movie Series - Wayne's World

Wayne's World is a 1992 comedy film which starred Mike Myers as Wayne Campbell and Dana Carvey as Garth Algar, the hosts of the television show Wayne's World. It was based on the skit of the same name from Saturday Night Live. In the film, Wayne and Garth are offered a large sum of money by a TV station executive named Benjamin Kane. Garth feels that allowing this to happen is "selling out", but is too afraid to tell Wayne that he thinks that way. Once the deal is made, the show is reinvented, much to the duo's consternation. Wayne's World 2 was released in 1993, and in it, the duo plan to organize and plan a big concert, "Waynestock".

1 Mike Myers is ok. He's more 1 dimensional than he realizes, but it works for him. What I can't understand is why anybody would cast him to play Keith Moon. Yeah you read that right. Look it up if you don't believe me. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on October 4, 2011, 7:04 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Remember when people used to like Mike Myers? His post Waynes World era could be the boning moment for him... -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on October 4, 2011, 6:48 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 Did you know that Mike Meyer's original draft for Wayne's World 2 didn't have Garth in it? Mike Meyers was jealous of Dana Carvey and wanted the focus to be all on him. The studio rejected it and he was forced to put in Garth. Studio interference isn't always a bad thing. He also didn't get along with WW1's director (she described him as a primadonna) and replaced her for the sequel. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on November 28, 2010, 6:00 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
4 The sequle wasn't as good as the original but at least it wasn't a carbon copy -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on November 28, 2010, 2:20 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

6 Both films were great fun and had a lot of good jokes. The second one was not as good, but come on! It gave mention to Charlton Heston and how good of an actor he is, that is all kinds of great. Aside from that, so many good quotes to use in everyday life, not, NOT! -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on July 20, 2010, 3:59 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

8 One of the few SNL skit parodies that translated well to the big screen, the Blues Brothers being the only other I can think of- and just the the Blues Brothers, only the first one had any merit- the sequel to this fell flat. You can't catch lightning in a bottle twice, and Waynes World only worked once- it's odd combination of Mike and Dana and some music and pop cultural references and a style of comedy that balances on funny and suck, they hit it dead on, for a time. The sequel didnt hit any of that, and some would say was the start of a long decline of lame non funny films for Mr. "Love Guru" Myers -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on February 8, 2010, 12:23 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
