TV Shows - Operation Repo

This TruTV series follows a team of repossessors in California's San Fernando Valley--Luis (the boss), Sonia (Luis' sister), Lyndah (Luis' daughter), Froy (Lyndah's husband) and Matt (the "enforcer" of the group, and the only team member from outside Luis' family who has earned his sustained trust). All scenes shown are shot in the "cinema verite" style but are actually scripted re-enactments.

1 The show isn't lying when they say "based on real events". They just use it in a very loose sense. Say they're repoing a white car and the owner happens to be an angry pornstar clown with a flaming machete. The real event here is that they actually did repo a car. It may've been white and the owner was probably angry, but the only 100% factual part is that a car was indeed repossessed. Everything else is (very obviously) scripted. -- Submitted By: (Malph) on September 22, 2011, 8:31 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Agreed. Me and my girlfriend like watching the show Cops from time to time, so we see ads for this show every time. I was bored the one night, and the show was on, so I turned it on to see how bad the show could possibly be. Yeah. Big mistake. Who was the genius that thought of this program. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on August 17, 2011, 6:29 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
3 A lame show on a lame network. Not only are the incidents scripted, they probably aren't even based on actual cases. Compared to this program, the Jerry Springer Show is deeply intellectual. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on June 11, 2011, 2:25 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
4 It would have been cool if they had not try to act as if it was real life. This is obviously purely scripted entertainment. It should not be on Tru-Tv. Their slogan is not reality, actuality. Lies Lies Lies. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 10, 2010, 11:54 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
