TV Shows - Kimba the White Lion

Kimba the White Lion was the American translation of the Japanese cartoon Jungle Emperor (Jungle Taitai). It was created by Osamu Tezuka, and aired in the 60s. Taking place in Africa in the middle of the 20th centuty, a lion named Caesar protects animals from the encroachment of man. Eventually, he is killed by a poacher, and his pregnant mate Snowene is captured and put onto a ship. She gives birth to Kimba on the ship, and teaches him his late father's ideals. She encourages Kimba to escape by squeezing through the bars of her cage, but Kimba ends up being orphaned when a storm destroys the ship. When Kimba makes it to land, he learns about people, and decides to make peace between animals and people by helping them understand each other.
