Night Court may be that rare example of a reverse bone--IMHO it got better after Markie Post joined the cast in season 3. The chemistry between her and John Larroquette was awesome. The change at court clerk from Karen Austin to Max Robinson in season 2 was also an improvement. This show did not skip a beat despite the deaths of Selma Diamond and Florence Halop--Marsha Warfield filled her own shoes very well, thank you. -- Submitted By: (markrabo) on November 10, 2015, 10:34 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Great great show during its prime. Harry Anderson and John Larroquette are one of the more underrated comedy duos in TV history, and the show itself was so well-written. It was hilarious, had great gags and lines (I'm keeping a list of Dan Fielding's put-downs just in case I ever need them in real life), and although were a few exceptions, it could also be touching and thought-provoking without being sappy or preachy. It's too bad we'll never see anything like ever again. -- Submitted By: () on November 19, 2014, 2:01 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Joleen Lutz, (Lisette the rarely used stenographer) was the best looking woman on the show among the regular/semi-regular characters. Judy Landers in her guest appearances,va va voom! -- Submitted By: (bipinbarr) on August 19, 2014, 1:03 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
This was a family favorite for many years. It was a truly looney show full of laughs. My sisters and me would come home from school and even catch the reruns on syndication. We sat around together every Thursday night to watch the crazy antics and Harry and company and the constant carnival of bizarre defendants to enter the court. Our favorite was Dan Fielding of course. He was the funniest, most selfish, most sex-crazed character I had ever seen in my young TV viewing experience. But I have to admit the later years were losing the quality of the earlier years when Dan was at his most perverse, before he got his soul. -- Submitted By: (Englebert) on November 20, 2013, 8:01 pm - (7 votes) - Login to Vote
I loved the show, but I always felt Karen Austin was hotter than Markie Post. I dropped a bone when she left. -- Submitted By: () on December 5, 2011, 11:01 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I didn't appreciate this show at the time - didn't even really notice it - but since it went into syndication I've come to really enjoy it. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on May 7, 2011, 12:30 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I really have to disagree. Most sitcoms in the '80s were horrible, saccharine Family Ties-ripoffs about families dealing with moral issues ("very special" episodes). Growing Pains, Charles in Charge, Who's the Boss, Mr. Belvedere, etc, etc. This one was a fresh change of pace and concentrated more on being outrageous and funny. There was no one like Dan Fielding on TV at that time. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on August 3, 2010, 1:31 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Hated Harry Anderson. Not even John Larroquette could save this mess! -- Submitted By: (PrinceJ) on August 2, 2010, 7:57 pm - (-9 votes) - Login to Vote
Markie definitely gave every man watching the show a 'post" back in the day, if ya know what I mean ;-) -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on March 4, 2010, 5:25 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
