Another TLC reality show, another pervert. Josh Duggar admits to molesting his sisters and another minor girl. Whomever is in charge of that network needs to be publicly flogged. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 22, 2015, 8:14 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Please stop this terrible show and even worse people. Is it really that interesting to watch a bunch of rabbits (Duggars) procreating and their rabbits procreating, and on and on? Who finds this entertaining? Put a plug in it Mrs. Duggar, the world does need any more of your bland, pasty swarm. -- Submitted By: (Englebert) on June 13, 2014, 11:29 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
I saw a news story blurb online recently about the Duggars taking snorkling lessons. The story emphasized that the Duggars wore regular clothes instead of swimsuits into the water because they felt that the suits were immodest. I know that as far as modesty is concerned, there are different standards for public vs. private. But even so, doesn't it seem a bit odd that two people who have conceived that many children together would have modesty hang-ups regarding swimsuits? -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on May 8, 2013, 2:06 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Stephanie.. you're right about them "hoarding" kids. The Duggars' religion is called Quiverfull ) "Every child is considered a gift" But 19 of them?? !! The mother (in this case Michelle) takes care of baby for 2 years & then he or she is assigned a buddy in the "buddy system" & then the older ones are stuck taking care of the younger one > I think that's horrible! No WONDER why the poor little ones are toilet trained so late!Plus the oldest one is expecting his THIRD child! Why don't the Duggar parents enjoy grandparenthood already! There's talk of them adopting little girls from Asia! OK..so little Asian girls need homes. But then they'll get pushed to the side just like all the OTHER Duggar kids do! 5 At the nameless person who protested my dislike of this show. 1. Yes, there are some over 18 but there are still other kids who are under 18 and ALL of them are under incredible pressure from their parents to keep toeing the parental party line at least in public [and I wouldn't be surprised if the network also put subtle if not open pressure to keep those kids from risking the cash cow]. Yeah, the 'media' could stir a storm if any of those kids openly rebelled but they'd have to come home to face a bunch of music. What's more there HAVE been other 'reality' shows in which it got shown up that the producers were willing participants in at least keeping the less appealing parts of the 'stars' lives from being broadcast via careful editing, etc. As I said, stories telling of actual problems would more likely happen after the show had long been off the air than while it's airing. 2. Yes, they all seem nice and polite[seem being the operative word]. However; while I'm no fan of rude or obnoxious folks, I get cynical when parents smugly claim to have perfect kids. Often this means that the kids have just learned what to say or do whatever it takes to get their overwhelming parents off their backs rather than actual contented conformity on the kids' part. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on August 28, 2012, 9:46 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
@Pelirojo: 1. Many of the kids are older than 18 now and could easily speak up if they wanted to. It's not like the media wouldn't eat that up. 2. As previously stated, if there was something awful to find about the family, it probably would've been found my now. 3. It really seems like TLC wanted this show to be another Kate Plus 8 or whatnot showing how horrible these people are, but I don't think they can find anything truly horrible to show about them. -- Submitted By: () on August 27, 2012, 6:30 pm - (-2 votes) - Login to Vote
Liva, Don't be surprised if one or all those kids tell VERY different stories than how they've been portrayed X number of years after this show is over. If adults want to make fools of themselves on 'reality' tv for all the world to gawk and jeer at the rest of their lives, that's their call but kids under 18 in those things are being EXPLOITED and I refuse to watch or support that. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on August 24, 2012, 10:22 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
A much as I think it's ridiculous to have this many kids, you really can't complain with the way they turn out. ALL of them seem like polite, respectful children who have a heart to serve and I really don't see any problem with people continuing to have kids if they're all going to turn out so well. -- Submitted By: (Liva148) on August 7, 2012, 10:35 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
This just isn't normal. It's GOT to be a type of hoarding. They are no better than those half-wits who own 45 cats. -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on November 12, 2011, 10:29 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Regardless of MO's, I'm praying THIS latest pregnancy turns out healthy for Mrs. Duggar and her 20th child- and that's ALL I'm doing for this event. No way am I contributing to the exploitation by watching. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 8, 2011, 8:14 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Addicted to pregnancy, Mrs. Duggar? Nothing wrong with old fashioned family values, but even farm families 150 years ago had less kids... -- Submitted By: (earmark72) on May 6, 2011, 10:04 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
NotABot55 reminds you to help control the people population; have your kids spayed or neutered! (Okay, not the same way as dogs.) Still, someone should tell that to this serial kidmaker. -- Submitted By: (NotABot55) on October 25, 2010, 1:05 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
True - Michelle Duggar isn't a hell-raising harridan like Kate Gosselin, and Mr. Duggar isn't a spineless wimp like Jon Gosselin. But I still say it's ridiculous they're pumping out kid after kid when there's no reason to do that. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on October 19, 2010, 11:14 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
True, but at least they are not as nuts as the Gosselins... yet -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on September 6, 2010, 3:32 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
By the time menopause sets in, they'll probably have 25 kids at least. The Duggars are proving nothing by pumping out kid after kid year after year and exploiting them on TV. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on September 5, 2010, 8:55 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
A tip for this woman... KEEP YOUR LEGS CLOSED!!! Ive even heard the supposed reason why they have 18 kids, since they felt so guilty being on birth control when they were younger, and supposedly, the one time, it did not work, and the kid that was going to come out of that became a miscarrage or something. Out of guilt, they felt they had to have as many kids as possible to make it up. A bunch of nuts if you ask me. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 11, 2009, 6:23 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
That woman seems to be the living embodiment of Groucho Marx's infamous (but probably apocryphal) punchline! As the story goes, when he was hosting the game show of "You Bet Your Life", each contestant would tell him a somewhat distinguishing characteristic of themselves so he could joke on it. Anyway, supposedly, one contestant told him that she was the mother of 20 children which supposedly prompted Groucho to ask her why she had so many to which she answered because she loved her husband. This allegedly prompted Groucho to say "Lady, I love my cigar a great deal, too, but even I take it out of my mouth every now and then!" Yeah, of course, it boned when they decided to put their kids in front of those 'reality show' cameras to exploit their situation! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 16, 2009, 7:46 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
18 Kids. AND COUNTING? Number 19 on the way?! Good God, the woman must be a masochist for labor pains or something! -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 14, 2009, 3:28 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Doesn't anyone realize that without this show, we the taxpayers would probably be supporting them? This is the case with most big families. It is asinine to have that many kids in this day and age. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on November 14, 2009, 3:07 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
