EA Sports is a brand name used by Electronic Arts since 1993 to distribute games based on sports. Formerly a gimmick inside Electronic Arts sports games, that tried to mimic real-life sports networks, calling themselves "EA Sports Network" (EASN) with pictures or endorsements of real commentators such as John Madden, it soon grew up to become a sub-label on its own, releasing game series such as NBA Live, FIFA, NHL, Madden NFL, and NASCAR. Most games under this brand are developed by EA Canada, the studio of Electronic Arts in Burnaby, British Columbia, as well as at EA Blackbox, Vancouver, British Columbia and EA Tiburon in Maitland, Florida.

Exactly, PYLrulz, EA's charade of charging us for cr@p games has gone on long enough. Madden SUCKS, that's why I'm hoping for Backbreaker to be the next great football game. -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on December 6, 2009, 7:28 pm - (0 votes)

From Football to NASCAR to Baseball, short of tiny little updates that mean chickenshit, it has seemed that each year, the games has been the same as last year. Madden, ever since they got the exclusive license, the quality of their games has not seemed to go up that much. Ever since NASCAR gave EA Sports the exclusive license each year has seemed to be the same thing, just with a different label. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 6, 2009, 9:00 am - (0 votes)

EA sports boned when they bought the exclusive NFL license in 2005. That means that only EA Sports is allowed to make video games using real NFL teams, players, stadiums, etc. Why did they do this, you ask? They did this because they knew that NFL 2K5 (produced by 2K Sports) was far superior to their Madden 2005. They knew that 2k was producing high-quality games, so the cowards over at EA bought the license so that only they could make NFL games. They were AFRAID that 2K was making better games, so they pull a chickenshit move like that. Ever since they bought the license, EA's Madden games have steadily gone downhill in terms of quality. The Madden games are just the same steaming piece of dog turd released every year, the only difference is the updated rosters. To that I say SCREW YOU EA SPORTS, you're getting no more of my money until you give up that license. -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on November 27, 2009, 12:32 pm - (0 votes)
