I still can't believe they got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They had one great album. The Use Your Illusion CDs are a mixed bag and had too many cover songs and too much profanity. Everything else was mediocre. I think the nominating committee just wanted to see if all original members would get back together. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on February 29, 2012, 6:47 pm - (0 votes)

Probably boned when the orginal band left and we had to wait 12 years for Chinese Democracy to come out, with the end result being an okay product, but nothing compared to Appetite or Use Your Illusion. Now this band is going to be in the Hall Of Fame this year and one wonders how that is going to turn out, since the orginal band hasn't performed in a little over 20 years. My guess is that they will probably show up, but Axl Rose will probably not like the idea of being on the same stage as Slash, so he'll find an excuse to weasel his way out like the asshole he's become. -- Submitted By: (tvfan) on December 29, 2011, 6:32 pm - (0 votes)

Ehh! I can take them or leave them. They have a few songs that are ok. You Could Be Mine, Patients, and Mr. Brownstone are tolerable. Did Knocking On Heavens Door need to feel like it was 20 minutes long? No! Is Axl a douchey ass bag? Most definitely! Can I play guitar like Slash? Nope! I don't necessarily think they were responsible for the hair band movement. I always thought they were mocking the trend. As they had an edgier sound than hair bands actually did. But, I've been wrong at least once.:P -- Submitted By: (Jp) on August 15, 2011, 1:01 am - (0 votes)

I agree, highly overrated, and in fact, Axl Rose has one of the most annoying voices in music history. -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on August 14, 2011, 11:37 pm - (1 votes)

YESSS!!! Someone else besides me who despised the horrible hair metal period!!! But Kingbk is wrong about G&R being responsible, if anything they were the only ones who didn't completely suck at that time. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 13, 2011, 8:50 am - (0 votes)

I think this band is highly overrated and always has been in history. They were responsible for the whole awful "L.A. Hair Metal" phase that happened in the late 80s-early 90s (Poison, Warrant, Motely Crue, etc.) Sure, "November Rain" is a great ballad and "Paradise City", "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Sweet Child of Mine" are fun for wedding receptions, but most of the other stuff this band did was crappy covers. Not only that, Axl Rose is so delusional that his ego has sunk him. Nobody cares about you anymore, you're a has-been. I think his feuding with the band was the boning moment, but overall I think this band is rated much higher than they should be. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on August 13, 2011, 2:16 am - (2 votes)

It was all over when they released The Spaghetti Incident really but there are so many reasons, Axl and his ego, taking 15 years to record Chinese Democracy which sounds like crap and was recorded in 15 minutes. Just too many reasons. -- Submitted By: (terror) on May 18, 2011, 1:53 pm - (0 votes)

It's all about Axl. It was inevitable this band would implode but it's all on him. Maybe some day he'll get his head out of his ass and there could be a reunion with the original line-up. -- Submitted By: (JamesO) on August 5, 2010, 4:14 pm - (1 votes)

The whole Chinese Democracy thing did it for me. They took too long on it and by that point they were beyond washed-up. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 6, 2010, 4:54 pm - (1 votes)

Even today I've still only heard one song from this Chinese democracy project album thingie that Axl--um, I mean the band--had allegedly been working 15 years on. I don't even mind that Axl gained 200 pounds in that time, but these guys should just get on with their lives. Slash certainly has. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 9, 2009, 6:41 pm - (-1 votes)
