Speaking as a son of good MacDonald stock, I must observe that we chased so many Englishmen off battlefields to the sound of the pipes that they finally decided (very wisely) that their chances of winning the next battle were much better with our music on their side. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on April 6, 2011, 3:49 am - (0 votes)

JayD: Are you sure they're not playing "Scotland the Brave"? The opening notes of "Scotland the Brave" and the Old Spice jingle are VERY similar. -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on July 17, 2010, 2:34 pm - (0 votes)

I like the use of bagpipes on "In A Big Country" by Big Country, but this was probably done on a synthesizer. The problem with bagpipes is that there are very few songs that you can play on them. A bagpipe player invariably plays "Amazing Grace" and the Old Spice song. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on July 16, 2010, 11:33 pm - (0 votes)

In defense of bagpipes, any instrument will sound worse than a goose being strangled if played badly. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on July 16, 2010, 6:39 pm - (1 votes)

May I say, bagpipes have a great sound. Played well of course. I defend the fish here. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on June 4, 2010, 5:17 pm - (0 votes)

Surprisingly, there really are people out there who hate the sounds of bagpipes. How can anyone hate such a cool-sounding instrument? -- Submitted By: (Robert) on June 4, 2010, 11:36 am - (0 votes)

Robert, that's interesting. I never realized that. Anyway, they are one of the coolest instruments around, IMHO. -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on June 4, 2010, 6:52 am - (0 votes)

There are bagpipes from all around the world, not just Scotland: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bagpipes -- Submitted By: (Robert) on March 20, 2010, 12:25 pm - (0 votes)
