Dark Shadows was distinguished by its vividly melodramatic performances, atmospheric interiors, memorable story lines and an unusually adventurous music score. Now regarded as somewhat of a camp classic, it continues to enjoy intense cult status among its followers.

I used to rush home from elementary school to see this. I loved horror stories back then (still do)and this was one cool soap opera!

The first season of the original Dark Shadows was forgettable; it wasn't until Barnabas was introduced, about 200 episodes in, that things really got interesting. However, by the period of the Leviathan story arc, around Season 3, the show was beginning to wheeze, and the last year or so was pretty lame (aside from the heavy screen time of a very young Kate Jackson, with whom I was smitten). -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on February 27, 2010, 1:47 pm - (0 votes)
