TV Shows - Charlie & Co.
Charlie & Co. (also known as Charlie & Company) is an American sitcom that originally aired on CBS from September 18, 1985 to May 16, 1986. Created by Allan Katz, the series starred Flip Wilson and Gladys Knight. Charlie & Co. is regarded as CBS' answer to The Cosby Show, which was a ratings success for NBC at the time. Unlike The Cosby Show, which ran for eight seasons, Charlie & Co. lasted for only one.

The late Flip Wilson (who'd been a hot comedian in the early 70's) and the legendary singer Gladys Knight may have been teamed for this because the pairing may have looked great on paper. However; these two had like zero chemistry or believability as married parents. I will say that Miss Knight actually seemed to take her job seriously as a comedic straight woman and was somewhat maternal to the teen+ kid cast members. I'm sorry Flip Wilson died; however,as far as I could see, he just seemed to walk through this part(the title role) as though he was mad he was no longer a top ranking comedian and was doing this to just pay the bills. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 16, 2010, 12:07 pm - (0 votes)

this show was made as a response to the cosby show. that show is pretty much one of the best shows of the 80s/90s, and when you make a "response" they normally are horrible. -- Submitted By: (VeritechRyan) on October 21, 2010, 12:08 am - (0 votes)
