Random Topics - Parallel Parking
Parallel parking is a method of parking a vehicle in line with other parked cars. Cars parked in parallel are in one line, parallel to the curb, with the front bumper of each car facing the back bumper of the adjacent one. Parallel parking requires driving the car in reverse gear into the parking space. Roads that facilitate said parking have an extra lane or a large shoulder for parked cars...

From what I have seen, it is women who have the most difficulty in successfully parallel parking. It's the whole reversing thing: spatial awareness. I never have a problem unless some idiot has not properly parked and is overlapping my space. -- Submitted By: () on October 20, 2011, 8:38 am - (0 votes)

Same here. I had to do it on my drivers test 40 years ago. Never have done it since! -- Submitted By: (JustLooking) on November 22, 2010, 7:38 pm - (-1 votes)

Parallel parking is a big WTF for me as well. Something I seldom (if ever) have done since I got my drivers' license. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on October 21, 2010, 1:30 pm - (-1 votes)

Agreed, Robert.
Of course, what's especially aggravating about it is that most spots actually CHARGE for the 'priviledge'. Parking METERS actually may be a good topic to consider re boning. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 15, 2010, 11:46 am - (0 votes)

All I can say is, it's a good thing I wasn't asked to parallel park during my driver's test! LOL I'm still not sure I can actually do it right. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on April 14, 2010, 11:06 pm - (0 votes)

Sorry to hear that, Pelirojo. I hate parallel parking. It's especially fun when two people park WAY too close to both your rear and your front. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on April 14, 2010, 7:19 pm - (0 votes)

Not in my city, Robert. I have to do it at least three times a week and it's a pain! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 14, 2010, 7:04 am - (1 votes)
