Never a fan. Always way too full of himself. The only part of his show I liked was when he had Billy West on, and then it was mainly Billy West getting the laughs doing his impersonations while Howard fed him lines. -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on July 16, 2012, 1:49 pm - (0 votes)

I actually like the movie Private Parts even though many people said it was a sell out. It was laugh out loud funny. In reality I saw him on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno when the other guest were Karen McDougal PMOY and Magic Johnson. The PMOY kept telling Howard to shut up, that she was talking. Howard gave Magic some free advice about Magic's (then new) show - something about not selling out and not letting the network train him to act "white"(?)Magic ridiculed this on his own show the next night and then to make matters worse Howard's "fart" band is supposed to "fart" rhythmically into live mics but is unable to do so evenly, leaving embarrassing moments of silence when someone was supposed to fart. Needless to say... -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on October 4, 2011, 2:10 am - (0 votes)

Though I'm not a fan of Howard Stern (I don't hate him), I commend him for doing that on 9/11. They needed a shoulder to cry on, and he was there to provide it. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 30, 2011, 11:12 am - (0 votes)

I agree, Soggy. I can recall him saying in an interview he was 'angry' that his satellite show didn't get the EXACT number of viewers as the over-the-air show. Not disappointed, not unhappy but 'angry'- despite him making megamillions regardless. Truth be told, his show never was something I went out of my way to see.Still, I'm glad he DID do that for those shell-shocked by 9/11 in the immediate aftermath (I have kin who were close enough to WITNESS the Towers going down). -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on May 29, 2011, 8:44 pm - (0 votes)

The show since 2010 has been a shell of the 4 prior years on Satellite Radio. No Artie, then refusing to replace Artie, suing sirius and then adding more commercials, ending at 10am sharp, 3 day work weeks, more vacations. Sad, and a new era of boning for the show. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 29, 2011, 5:50 am - (2 votes)

I remember listening to clips of that show (I was in school that day when it all happened). Lots of people were giving credit to the wrong people in entertainment for that. What Howard did that day was simply amazing, and should of been awarded for it any way possible -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on May 27, 2011, 6:12 pm - (0 votes)

The Greatest Reverse Bone Moment in Radio History: The Howard Stern Show on September 11, 2001. As you'll recall, Howard stayed on the air a few hours past his usual sign-off time, just to take calls from traumatized New Yorkers who needed an outlet for their anguish. Listening to these calls, and to the raw emotions of Howard's crew, made for some truly compelling radio. Equally as important, the extended live edition of the show was a real public service, and both Howard and WXRK management deserve a huge amount of credit for it. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on May 27, 2011, 1:40 am - (0 votes)

As far as the SHOW goes, it slowly boned from 2009-2010. A mixture of Howard getting vocally castrated by Beth, then Artie leaving and trying to kill himself. Yeah, it hasn't been the same since. I think 2008 was the last year I made an effort to listen. -- Submitted By: (Googalslosh) on April 4, 2011, 7:10 pm - (2 votes)

I may be alone here but I've never understood what all the fuss was about in the first place. I heard Howard on DC101 only because my brother thought he was great or something. He was annoying then and still is. -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on January 9, 2011, 9:28 pm - (1 votes)

Sure, his stuff from the 90's is way better than today, but I totally understood why he went to Satellite Radio, especially with the censorship concerns that surrounded him in his last years at K-Rock.
That being said, still hasn't boned, still the epic and legendary man of radio that he is, and probably in the history of media, probably one of the best interviewers of all time. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 10, 2009, 4:47 am - (0 votes)

Brewmaster- The humour is targeted at people much older than 17, I could be 100 years old and still love this show. Stern is airing some never before heard private interviews with the 3 Stooges on July 31rst from the 1960's. Best entertainer in America, hands down.... for all ages. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on July 16, 2009, 6:17 am - (0 votes)

DolFan- the show this week has been great, well either it's been that damn funny, or the brainwashing is working for the last 17 years. Give it a listen if you get a minute, I have great laughs every weekday with Howard and the Gang! -- Submitted By: () on June 10, 2009, 8:19 am - (0 votes)

Joe- I'm in complete disagreement with you. I listened to Howard for most of high school and college, then after college I moved to an area that didnt get a station that carried Howard from 1999 on. However- THANKS to him going to Sirius, I was able to get him in an area that his little to no radio stations, and the ones that do are HORRIFIC. Secondly, I listen every day, and as someone that has been a fan and listener/viewer of Howard Stern since about 1991- I have no idea how you can say that regular radio is much better than Howard, and that it's the same old stuff?!!? The show is pure comedy GOLD and much much better than it was in many many years- and perhaps it is better now than it ever was!! Also the specials and retrospective theme weeks and special shows (Riley Martin, Miserable Men, Bubba the Love Sponge etc.) are just icing on the cake. And finally, for paying for radio- I bought the lifetime subscription for Sirius this year after paying the yearly fee and I will say without a doubt- this is the best money ever spent on entertainment in my life- hands down. Between listening at home, and in the car, I listen probably about 30-35 hours a week with no commericals on the music, and very few on the "talk channels" this includes Howard. Finally- I've gotten about 5 people get Satellite radio and they all say that it was one of the coolest gadgets ever, and they could no longer ever listen to "old school AM/FM" again. I'm respectfully taking your Fish Platter off the table on this one issue!!! Now I do think Howard Boned the fish when he wouldnt reveal his income to run for Governor of NY- that was a small hush puppy to a largely no Fish Boning Career. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 27, 2009, 5:08 am - (0 votes)

Howard has had a fish sandwich or two. His show is pretty much the same stuff. Take off your shirt and show us what you've got. He also boned when he went to the Sirus network, then lectured all of us that we need to pay for radio so we can continue to hear him. Hey Howard, when I start making millions of dollars a year to look at ladies breasts maybe I'll sign up. Until then I'll just listen to free radio which is actually better. -- Submitted By: (JoeBagODonuts) on April 27, 2009, 4:32 am - (0 votes)
