I had no idea there were more than two of these films. I doubt I'm missing out on anything though. As for the first two, they're not too horribly bad. I can sit through them at least. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on December 14, 2011, 10:21 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I actually like the first three movies. Home Alone 1 was a classic, Home Alone 2 was also funny and I like when Kevin in a different setting in a classy hotel and going around NY by himself. At first, I thought the third one going to BTF because it's a different family but it's just as funny as the first two. The only problem is that it's not fair to call Home Alone 3 a sequel when it has nothing to do with the pevious story. I think that only thing is wrong with it when they called it 3 and lot a people assumed it be the same charatcers from the last movie. They should called it Home Alone: Side Stories or something like that. I saw a bit of Home Alone 4, I think suppose to take place after Home Alone 2, IIRC. It was a case of Same Characters, Different Actor syndrome. I don't remember the plot but I know it sucked completely. Storywise they should stop at 2, as the whole francise they shold stop at 3. -- Submitted By: (SSM) on March 25, 2011, 9:17 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

First one was hilarious (I loved how he used that gangster movie with the pizza guy), second one was so-so (but gets to be not so great upon repeated viewings). Third and fourth ones...PASS. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:25 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Love the first 2. Haven't seen them in years but used to watch it at Christmas when I was a kid. Everything after is a massive decline in quality. Haven't even seen 4 and never plan to. -- Submitted By: (cfc2011) on October 8, 2010, 10:59 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Home Alone 3 and Home Alone 4 were just terrible. Home Alone Boned at Home alone 3. Home Alone 4 was just an awful sequel not because it didn't contain Macaulay Culkin, it was because of not a name brand cast and it still took place during the same time the first two had taken place. The real boning point was that in Home Alone 4 the police cars were 1980s models. The Series should have stopped at 2. -- Submitted By: (JBird) on May 26, 2010, 12:24 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
If anybody would of been smart, they would of stopped at 2, or if they wanted 3 so badly, they should of waited 30 or so years, then film 3 with Kevin now as a parent, and having the same thing happening to his kid. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 3, 2009, 12:39 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The first movie was the best. The second movie...ehh, it's OK. But the third movie? BONE!!!!! No Kevin, no Buzz, no "Johnny and Snakes" from part 3 onwards!!!!! -- Submitted By: (SVN) on August 30, 2009, 12:35 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The whole premise was a one trick pony, barely skirting the edges of credibility, but good fun. The second was the same movie as the first, and the others were just painful -- Submitted By: (BrewMaster) on July 29, 2009, 11:45 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
To me, this series has always been idiotic slapstick, nothing more. Then again, these are kids movies, and maybe I'm overanalyzing :s -- Submitted By: (Indigo) on July 16, 2009, 4:07 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I loved Home Alone 3 myself. Sure the thing wasn't as solid a film as the others... As a matter of fact I really don't remember the specific plot too well... But all the gags (EG the stuff the series is funny for) were still there, with some good new ones thrown in! The terrorist creeps were just as fun to watch screw up and fall into traps as the burglars, and isn't that what people watch the films for? <.< Home Alone 4 on the other hand was quite tedious: One-half of the burglars halfheartedly returns with some random chick, and fall into a house where IT does most of the work and the kid just sits around with a remote control pressing buttons? Was Kevin getting "too old for that crap" or something, or did the writers just think they were being clever? Talk about lazy... -- Submitted By: (MrBriggsInc) on May 11, 2009, 6:32 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
1). The first one is a Christmas classic. The second one was good, but the third one sucked: No Macauley Culkin (if he grew up, that means Home Alone should have stopped there), spies instead of Harry and Marv, and a totally different family. 2). As for Kevin (Culkin's character) being forgotten about in the first and second movies, I thought it was odd they forgot about him. But after watching the movies again, I saw how it holds water: It's because he's the family punching bag. If you watch the beginnings to both 1 and 2, you'll see how he always gets the short end of the stick. In the first movie, Buzz ate his pizza, and it was Kevin who was sent to his room in the attic. Buzz is not punished AT ALL for eating Kevin's supper--not even a slap on the wrist or a scolding! In the second movie, Buzz and Kevin ruined the Christmas pageant. After making an apology so clearly phony even a blind man could see through it, Buzz is pardoned. Kevin, however, is sent to his room for refusing to apologize. When he tells his mother Buzz called him a trout-sniffer after the phony apology, she didn't care. At all. And, considering how little respect they have for him at home, and with all the stress and chaos of being late, it's no surprise Kevin was forgotten twice. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 1, 2009, 12:32 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I liked the first one. I tend to watch it when it pops up on tv close to Christmas time. The second one was weak. They pretty much repeated the gags from the first one, only didnt do them as good, and it wasnt believable that his parents would lose him a second time, plus not believable that Kevin would be running up against and battling Harry and Marv again. Its not THAT small of a world. 3rd one simply sucked. -- Submitted By: (bmovies) on April 30, 2009, 12:54 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
A mother doesn't notice her son's not around until they're on the plane even when they all go through Customs with passports? And, who ever heard of burglars discussing their plans in front targets of their intended break-ins and showing up EXACTLY on time?! Come on! Also, Kevin doing The Scream wasn't as funny the tenth time as it was the first. Yeah, I know this made Culkin a star (for a time) but one viewing of the first of the series was quite enough for me! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 8, 2009, 5:10 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
