TV Shows - Fraggle Rock
Fraggle Rock is a children's television series created by Jim Henson, primarily featuring a cast of "Muppet" creatures called Fraggles. The series plays out in a world with a relatively complex system of symbiotic relationships between different "races" of creatures, an allegory to the human world, where each group was somewhat unaware of how interconnected and important they were to one another. Creating this allegorical world allowed the program to entertain and amuse while seriously exploring complex issues of prejudice, spirituality, personal identity, environment, and social conflict.

That idiot parent needs to get the wax out of his ears and get new batteries for his hearing aid if he honestly thinks Wembley said a racial slur. Just when I think some people can't possibly be any more stupid, someone raises the bar. -- Submitted By: () on November 20, 2011, 8:43 am - (0 votes)

Something similar happened in Aladdin: when Prince Ali is trying to get Rajah the tiger to back off, he says, "Good kitty, just take off and go". Some idiot with voices in their head heard, "Good teenagers, take off your clothes" and went public. I listened carefully to that part. I did NOT hear "teenagers" or "clothes". Thankfully, it wasn't edited. As for Fraggle Rock, how is it a racial slur when Gobo is one of the characters' names? And how could anyone mishear "Gee, Gobo" as a racial slur? Lastly, it's "Gobo", NOT "Gaboo"! So that makes the alleged racial slur all the more unconvincing. Sigh...this is once again a sad reminder that stupid people make the rules. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 19, 2011, 11:57 am - (0 votes)

So some idiot is watching Fraggle Rock and then Wembley says, "Gee, Gobo!" This moron thinks it's a racial slur and throws a big fit and alerts the media. So now the the TV station (The Hub) is going to censor that episode (and others?) from now on, even though there's nothing offensive about it. I wish I was making this up. http://tinyurl.com/84xzmyb -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on November 18, 2011, 2:52 am - (0 votes)

Loved it as a kid (had HBO back then). I still remember when they had something where you send in a postcard saying who your favorite Fraggle was. I lost track of Fraggle Rock after moving to Jacksonville (didn't get HBO there). Now that I have it all on DVD and watched all episodes, I still say it rocks. Too bad Hollywood intends to make a movie that I'm sure won't be anywhere near as good as the TV show - I bet Jim Henson's spinning in his grave now. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on October 2, 2010, 5:10 pm - (1 votes)

I loved this when I was a kid. I'm sorry to hear it's going to made into a "hip" movie. Hollywood, leave our classics ALONE! -- Submitted By: (Robert) on October 2, 2010, 9:57 am - (1 votes)

Not a big shock with the trends being what they are these days, but the Weinsteins are making a movie out of this. But the screenwriter has been ordered (against his will) to make the movie hip and "edgy". Here's the screenwriter's blog: http://coryscuriosities.blogspot.com/2010/06/edgy-alert.html -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on June 17, 2010, 12:42 pm - (0 votes)
