TV Shows - Trapper John, M.D.

Trapper John, M.D. is an American television medical drama and spin-off of M.A.S.H. focusing on Dr. "Trapper" John McIntyre (Pernell Roberts) 28 years after his discharge from the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (M.A.S.H.) in the Korean War. In the nearly three decade interim, the character had mellowed considerably. He didn't just learn how to stop fighting the system but became a part of it, in a sense, as the Chief of Surgery at San Francisco Memorial Hospital. Trapper showed tremendous compassion towards his patients, often violating "established hospital procedures." The show ran on CBS from September 23, 1979, to September 4, 1986.

Trapper John, M.D. Comments (You must Login to Comment)

1 It's obvious that Greg Harrison's departure left the show with a big hole to fill. They brought two characters to fill that hole. The first one didn't work out and the network cancelled the chow before the second one could catch on. -- Submitted By: (rony) on July 23, 2012, 11:50 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Good show until the last season when Gregory Harrison and several other regulars left. How could you do this show without Gonzo Gates? -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on June 29, 2012, 11:23 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
