Random Topics - Action 52 (NES)
Action 52 is an unlicensed NES game comprised of 52 individual games. It was developed by Active Enterprises. However, most of these games are poorly programmed and loaded with bugs, glitches, and other problems. If you've played (or seen someone like the Angry Video Game Nerd play) Action 52, which of its 52 games made you realize it Boned the Fish?

Believe it or not, I actually got to play Action 52 on a REAL cartridge. Before AVGN's review came around. So, when did Action 52 bone the fish? For me, it's a tie: realizing how many glitches there actually are, the awful controls, and how stupid the games' premises were: A guy with giant feet stomping on eyeballs. A giant baby climbing furniture and squirting milk at adults half its size. Indecipherable mishmashes of pixels shooting odd-looking bullets at other indecipherable mishmashes of pixels. And with that last sentence, I summed up the premises for more than half the games. But if I have to choose the one game which proved A52 BTFed, I guess it should be Cheetahmen. Why? Because you'd think the other games were poorly made because all the attention went to this one. Sadly for those who paid $199 for this cart, Cheetahmen is only SLIGHTLY better than the other games. And even then, I'm being too generous in calling it "slightly better". The truth came to light: these people couldn't get even ONE game right, tried to cover it up by making 51 games which were worse, then tried to get rich off it by tricking unsuspecting buyers into getting 52 "new and original" games for less than $4 each. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on September 11, 2010, 1:30 pm - (0 votes)
