TV Shows - Space Academy
Space Academy was a live-action sci-fi children's television program, produced by Filmation and airing on CBS television on Saturday mornings from 1977 to 1979. A total of fifteen half-hour episodes were made over two seasons.

Sorry, Arkady, but "Jason of Star Command" was a spin off of "Space Academy" since the opening narration clearly stated that the latter took place in 'a secret section of Space Academy' [obviously so to explain away using the exact same sets to keep their cheap budget even cheaper]. It was an okay time passer but I liked that Jonathan Harris actually got to play a respectable, heroic and honest leader even if Commander Gampoo was sometwhat pompous. At least the pomposity wasn't a dominant character trait- unlike with Dr. Smith. Oh, and the voice of Lucy Van Pelt [Pamelyn Ferdin] got to play to telephathic teen twin. One show was a spinoff of the other-I think "Space Academy" was spun off "Jason of Star Command". Not bad stuff for seventies programming-I loved how Jason would always program the Dragos' ship to explode!

...however, I just looked over the Wikipedia article on Space Academy- I remember Jonathan Harris being the 300 year old Academy leader and I certainly recall the robot 'Peepo', but- and maybe I'm mistaking this one with another show, I would swear that James Doohan ('Scotty' of Star Trek fame) was on this show.
