TV Shows - Cattanooga Cats

Cattanooga Cats is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon which debuted in 1969. In addition to the title characters, the Cattanooga Cats (which is a band similar to the Banana Splits and the Archies, only comprised of felines), other segments were Around the World in 79 Days, based on the Jules Verne novel Around the World in 80 Days. It starred the son of Phileas Fogg, Phinny Fogg, and his friends as they compete with the villainous Crumden for the world record and a $1 million prize. It's the Wolf! was about a wolf named Mildew and his efforts to catch and eat a lamb named Lambsy, but was caught and foiled by the sheepdog Bristle Hound. Motormouse and Autocat are a motorcycle-driving mouse and a racecar-driving cat. The latter would devise plans and drive different cars in several (failed) attempts to catch the former.

Cattanooga Cats Comments (You must Login to Comment)

1 There weren't too many actual cartoons featuring the Cats themselves but they did have some very catchy tunes. The It's the Wuluf segments were a one joke affair. Mildew tries to eat Lambsy and Bristle Hound uses his cane to toss Mildew(who says "Spoil Sport.") across the horizon. Not to mention Autocat and Motormouse(who always says "Boy Hardy," or "Chic-o-ree"). Like many shows from the late 60s and early 70s, it only lasted a couple of years but remains a cult classic today. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on August 2, 2012, 12:55 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
