TV Shows - Alcatraz

Alcatraz is an American television series created by Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt, and produced by J. J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions. The series originally premiered on Fox on January 16, 2012, as a midseason replacement. Switching between eras, the series focuses on the Alcatraz prison, which was shut down in 1963, due to unsafe conditions for its prisoners and guards. However, both the prisoners and the guards disappeared and are now being tracked down by a government agency. The series stars Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia and Sam Neill.

1 Was disappointed that the show wasn't coming back for a second season, I thoroughly enjoyed the first season! -- Submitted By: (dougiejr61) on August 4, 2014, 1:44 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Alcatraz attempted to ride off the coattails of a successful franchise, in this case Lost. It could never measure up. -- Submitted By: (scatcatpdx) on June 15, 2012, 11:25 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 So far I like it. Part procedural, part sci-fi thriller. The procedural format is very, very tired, but the back stories and mysteries on the show make up for that. I don't really understand the point of Hurley on the show. I get that J.J. Abrams is helping his friends find work post Lost, but his character is kind of pointless so far. I like him, but he doesn't seem to do much. The girl cop isn't the best actress. However, Sam Neal is awesome. Having him on helps this show a ton. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on February 22, 2012, 10:56 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
