Music Groups - Haircut One Hundred

1980s one (two?) album wonder that ended up disbanding following the departure of lead singer Nick Heyward, who was very sick with Swelled Head Syndrome and deluded himself into believing his musicianship was worth a plug nickel without his backup band. Deservedly, his career ended up in the toilet. Undeservedly, the rest of the band's did too. It's ambiguous if they ever cut a 2nd album. I believe some tracks were recorded for what was supposed to be that, but they ended up on a compilation album.

Haircut One Hundred Comments (You must Login to Comment)

1 All too common story in the 1980s. New wave band makes one album that's pretty good. They find success with it. Then their egocentric tool of a lead singer (Nick Heyward in this case) decides he's bigger than the band and goes out on his own, on the "strength" of ONE successful LP that he didn't do alone. Nick Heyward gets my vote for "biggest jerk of the 80s", not just for flushing his own music career by making this ill-advised selfish move, but for taking his former band down with him. Let's not even get into the many fans who were hoping for another album out of this group and got nothing. -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on July 25, 2012, 11:27 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
