TV Shows - Lost Saucer, The

The Lost Saucer aired on NBC in the 1975-76 television season. It was about two friendly time-travelling androids from the year 2369 named Fi (Ruth Buzzi) and Fum (Jim Nabors) who land their flying saucer on present day Earth and by mischance end up taking a young boy named Jerry (Jarrod Johnson) and his babysitter Alice (Alice Playten) on board. The flying saucer has the ability to travel through time, but the controls which allow the androids to specify an exact date become damaged. The premise of the show was about the androids visiting various locations in time and space while trying to either return Alice and Jerry to their proper time and place or return to their home planet to repair their ship. Each episode had a specific theme, generally based on social or environmental commentary.

Lost Saucer, The Comments (You must Login to Comment)

1 One of those shows that sounded as though it would have been GREAT on paper with funny, zany established performers [Buzzi and Nabors], a wacky premise [they've accidently kidnapped two Earthling kid stowaways but can't find their way back] and cheesy special effects. Problem is that none of this actually meshed and even as a sci-fi loving kid viewer, I found it more tedious than even "Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space". -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on September 27, 2015, 6:25 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 As a kid, I used to love this show. I loved (a still do actually) scfi stories that center around tales of time travel. I can't really say that they even made enough episodes fo it to properly 'bone'. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on September 6, 2014, 9:22 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
