Agreed that it never it bone despite a somewhat notable drop in quality from Road Warrior to Thunderdome. One of Australia's best exports. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on November 25, 2013, 2:19 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The Road Warrior is the best action movie of all time (as far as I am concerned), so there was a pretty big let down when I saw Beyond Thunderdome. However, it wasn't really a bad movie either so i had to choose never boned. -- Submitted By: (JMoose) on December 2, 2012, 6:58 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Watched the Road Warrior recently with a friend, it still rocks-sad to hear about Arkie Whiteley-my friend that watched it with her is STILL in love with her thirty years later-Beyond Thunderdome was cool until Max finds the kids-then it is like another movie that really BONES-and Tina Turner sucks at all times but the movie was okay till he found the kids! -- Submitted By: () on February 2, 2012, 3:40 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Just saw the uncut Australian Version of MM2 - AKA the Road Warrior. Even better with the small edits back in. These films have not been topped in terms of straight up action. Never Boned- well at least the first two! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on February 27, 2010, 1:50 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I actually liked the 3rd movie with Tina Turner-and more importantly liked the idea that civilization could arise again after annihilation even if the descendents didn't quite get the concepts of ancestral life (see Renaissance after Dark Ages!). Still, I think it was time to retire the series inasmuch as if civilization was being reived without Max (the ONE vestage of it in previous films), exactly what would his purpose have been? -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on February 13, 2010, 3:00 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
After the great "Mad Max", and the even better follow up "The Road Warrior" there was a huge let down with the 3rd Installment of "Beyond Thunderdome". No cool cars, no real villain (Tina Turner?) and very few cool action sequences. Also there was the bizarre confusion of having the "Gyro Copter" actor from the second film in the third film as a "new character" which just was confusing. Then to top it off the annoying children living in the desert was really the BTF moment- this was like the Ewoks being added to "Star Wars" - just needless cuteness added to a franchise that didn't need this element for any reason accept to appeal to kids or some non "Mad Max" demographic -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 2, 2009, 8:14 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
