I'm really pissed off at the news that Jay Leno will be replaced with Jimmy Fallon. Not because they're firing Leno (I'm happy about that part) but because Jimmy didn't pay his dues like Conan did. This just brings back memories of all that nastiness three years ago with firing Conan and bringing back Jay, and proves it was all for nothing. I'm hearing talking heads saying, "Well, the market has changed so much since then." REALLY!? Oh yeah, things are just SOOO much different in a mere three years. I'm so happy NBC is in 5th place and will laugh when that network finally dies. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 3, 2013, 6:35 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
When Carson left, although Jay's screwing of Conan O'Brian was totally despicable -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on December 1, 2011, 11:26 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
The late-night-variety-show genre boned long ago. Or rather, it became passe as our tastes changed. Eventually it will be as extinct as its prime-time counterparts, and our grandkids will find our appreciation of them as perplexing as we find our parents'/grandparents' appreciation of the Ed Sullivan Show. That said, Carson brought so much to the table that Leno lacks, one may as well be comparing apples and basketballs. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on May 15, 2011, 10:56 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
The Tonight Show boned when Carson retired in '92 and that bobble-head guy took over. -- Submitted By: (Scaramouche) on July 6, 2010, 6:17 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I used to like watching Jay Leno. But after he and NBC screwed Conan, I'm done with Jay for good. I'm going back to watching Letterman at 11:35. -- Submitted By: (BRB_TheFireball) on March 3, 2010, 8:51 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The Tonight Show was on a slippery slope since Carson left, as Leno was extremely bland, cheap, and unoriginal. However, when Leno and Conan started duking it out over the show, it officially became boned. Because of the controversy, Jay Leno is so hated by America now that when he comes back on, nobody is going to watch him and Letterman is going to destroy him in the ratings. -- Submitted By: (Runfromcheney) on February 18, 2010, 10:02 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Agreed. I would love to know how Leno did what he did to get the job to begin with. I would love it within a year or two, the Tonight Show dies off due to Leno's greed and such. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 14, 2010, 1:20 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Jay Leno is a disgrace- he sold out Carson, Letterman, and now Conan O'Brien. How this talentless fish loving hack has wormed his humourless way around NBC is amazing. Pass some slaw and vinegar to this show, it's done- go back to Ripping off Stern Leno! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on January 13, 2010, 6:40 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
